Clowns and Holiday Treats
Easter is coming up for many who celebrate, and it’s worth bringing up the conversation that often comes up around Halloween and Christmas: small candy.
Holiday candy - in the case of Easter, mini eggs, peeps, scavenger hunts for little chocolates - can make a wonderful treat for your clown, and many of the festivities are good temporary enrichment. However, if you primarily own large or medium breeds, do NOT overfeed treats your clown. It’s not a good solution to bulk buy cheap candy after a holiday, as clowns often need much bigger meals and a more varied diet.
However, for miniature clown owners, this is actually a great time to take advantage of the sales! Particularly for mini spook clowns (not quite the same as scare clowns, but of the same genus), small candy is a good replacement for the tubs of candyfloss and big marshmallows large clowns often eat. However, meat is still a diet requirement for the majority of clowns, no matter their size.
My mini porcelains are over half scare clown and eat small candy as a significant part of their diet, but they’re a bit bigger than an average mini and because of their breed do still need to eat a fairly hefty amount of meat and some bigger candies.
Apologies if this is poorly worded, I’m a bit tired lately caring for a new addition to the shelter and haven’t been my most articulate self. I’ve seen posts like this before but thought it might be helpful to share my experience with minis, as they frequently differ from large breeds of clown.

Howdy! Our old blog got mcsnapped, but we needed an update so we’re making the most of it! Mod Ashi and I are both redesigning some of our muses, so for those uninoculated, meet Funnel Cake “Funnelcoaster” Cookie!
Bio: Made of sweet fried dough, a heaping helping of powdered sugar, and neon candy coating, Funnelcoaster is a cheerful cookie who builds and mans the Thrilling Pumpkin Rides- though there’s more than meets this eye for many a member of the Park staff, and his penchant for pushing the thrill of high speed and adrenaline means his place among the ranks of fear-bringers is more than earned....
Pet: Prize Pig- a plush pig Funnelcoaster won at his first day at Terror Park Came alive and gained flight! She’s got just as much need for speed and adrenaline as her papa, and often helps him get around in areas with few guiding lights.
{I promise we aren’t dead!}
Date the dark shadow in the corner of your eye, hold out your hand, and trust they will take it in their own. Do not look for them, just believe they will return your affections.
@thebigkingmoron this is 100% accepted. rogues are small and they need the biggest of bois to help them
today's portrait features: Darling (Korvi LaVey)! Character by @space-ghost-with-the-most
Darling is from the Bee Kingdom in the Mushlands who wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a chef and took that opportunity when the Birates needed a chef on board while talking to the locals. Ever since, he felt that the crew and the sea was his home.
His nickname comes from his charming personality, good demeanor, and pretty looks :]
