I really like this piece , twas and experiment and a kinda environment study - I’m simply experimenting with style as I go along . Cat lady isn’t an OC , she’s just a nice cat lady . Could she be an OC ? Maybe . (( Also by any chance if anyone sees this please explain how to run a tumblr blog I don’t know what I’m doing . ))
Ok but isn’t every woman in the entire dwu the “most important woman in the universe” at this point?
Every single one of them have helped save countless people, haven’t they, sometimes not even directly but rather teaching others to care for each other or smt.
(O/////O) Oh well! *Bows down* What have you summoned this demon for, mistress?~
i, um, uh

So there’s a mother, right, and she’s had three sons for the king, and they are good sons, good king’s sons, she should say. And they love the kingdom and they love their king and they… they are murderers.
She threw up the first time one of them came back bloody and cold eyed. She watched as the king patted him on the back and declared the boy his pride and joy. And her son stood a little taller, and laughed a little crueller, and there was a spring in his step.
He still called her mother and answered to the name she always called him.
She didn’t know this man.
Her other two sons she tried harder, she talked to them of peace and of love and the horrors of war and the stain it left behind.
They were beautiful, her sons.
But they sat at their father’s the knee, the king’s knee, and they laughed at his jokes and they looked at their brother with envy.
They came back just the same, one at a time, stained with blood of the good people in songs she had sung them at night.
They were strangers to her, too.
When she knew she was having her next son she decided she would take action. He would be a good son, the good son, not a good king’s son.
There was a meeting with a witch, an exchange, it was all quite simple.
This son would listen to her, because she knew of no other judgement she could trust.
And he did, he hung on to her every word, he loved her dearly and spat on the thought of becoming like the others, the sons of the king. He didn’t sit at the king’s knee or laugh at the cruel jokes. He was perfect.
She went out one night, to visit a friend, she came back the next morn to the happiest welcome from the palace staff she had yet received.
They said the castle had been kept up by the screams of a wild animal, that the guards were covered in scratches from it’s claws and that it was in the north tower.
Her son was there, he smiled when he saw and her and told her he had missed her.
She asked about what had happened. The king’s men overreacted, he said. She knew they were wont to do that.
Those men who had once been her sons chief among them.
He asked her not to leave again, though. He got lonely with no friends in the castle.
A few of the servants had children his age, she set him to playing with them. It was fun, he said, until they told him it wasn’t his turn, it was theirs, or their mothers told them to stop playing.
She took him with her on an outing, told him he should listen to others, sometimes.
He didn’t understand.
He kept not understanding.
When a man chasing a wild horse told him to move clear of the charging beast, he stood still. She sewed up his wounds herself and told him to listen.
A girl he liked told him to stop and that she didn’t like that; and he - he didn’t stop.
She told him to serve in the army, learn how to take orders, she told him to, told him with all her will.
One day a man walked into the throne room, he had cruel eyes like his father and blood on his hands; more than blood, in his hands he held a head, severed cruelly, jaggedly.
“I’ve done as you asked father, ridden the world of the monster in our ranks, he will hurt nobody else.”
And the king smiled at his pride and joy, and bounced his baby boy on his knee.
