Some more 80’s Toon TMNT stuff with the Stranger Things/Heathers shared AU. Eleven made friends with a Mutant child back in Hawkins Labs, who was named Ratrace. He was created accidentally by Eleven having spilled Mutagen on a lab rat that evolved into a humanoid like Splinter. In a manner of speaking they’re more like mother and son, but they see each other as big sister and kid brother. Ratrace and other Mutants escaped from Hawkins at some point before the Upside Down was accessed, but Eleven and Ratrace do reunite in time!

This is where Splinter, Eleven and JD start to bond more with each other too.

Based on an Instagram video I saw, only instead of it being a prank, the former Hawkins boys are getting revenge.

While not mentioned, one of Thrash’s listed crimes was calling Veronica a “Rent-A-Skank” which JD and Braverman didn’t take lightly either.

Braverman is not above SOME petty revenge but won’t go so far to kill anybody, he once sprayed spray paint in the face of the S1 Stranger Things bullies for making fun of Will as he and Will were making banners for a school event a few years ago.

Inspired by a sketch by @cheebra I saw, but set in the Stranger Things/Heathers/TMNT shared AU. Cowritten by @horror-lady00 the gang, while on a school New York trip somewhere around Stranger Things 2 & 3 are helping the Turtles investigate strange Upside Down energy readings related to the Manhattan Project and Montuak that Krang, The Foot, Hawkins Labs, Baxter Stockman, Bud Dean, and Scratch/Hob P. Hallocat were all involved in in some capacity in the past.

Along the way, Eleven gets into a lover’s spat while Lucas, JD and the others ponder Mike’s chances.

Commish for @thebigboy71 that’s part of a small series involving a Unicron possessed Pony invading Cybertron during a point in the inter dimensional conflict known as the Legacy Wars. (Yes, overall this was our attempt at trying to give the Legacy toyline a story, even though it largely is defined with our TF OCs and AUs).

For Heathers adjacent purposes, this shows off what JD, Braverman & Heather Duke look like colored since I can’t remember if I’ve shown that here before. A particular detail that’s omitted here due to the angles is JD usually has colored bags under his eyes to show his stress and lack of sleep.

Downshift is here because he’s good friends with Heather Duke in this scenario and her Partner Autobot ala Miko & Bulkhead.

Energon Volcanicus Maximus is also colored here, and while he’s just a repurposed Power Core Combiner, his colors are a mix of Universe Superion and the G1 Dinobots. Volcanicus Maximus takes his orders primarily from Grimlock, but the Energon Dinobots are largely connected to Braverman, JD and Mischa, so they listen to these particular kids too, especially when Kicker and Optimus can’t get them to cooperate.

These also take place during the Legacy Wars, though the Terrans are more involved with the conflict during the new Age of the Primes.

All the Conformity Gate stuff, and I’m out here going “Let’s do more TMNT, Stranger Things and Heathers mashups!”

In this version of events, Mutagen Ooze is the root cause of Eleven having powers, borrowing from a similar concept in the 2012 series, but also this:

A slime canister Gatcha figurine that feels more like something TMNT would do, especially the 80’s version (and Mutant Mayhem).

In fact this canister is what Vecna is holding in the comic to tie it all together.

So on top of El being a Mutant (technically), the Ooze is collected by Vecna as a means to revive the Mind Flayer’s body, but like Hunn in 4Kids TMNT, the result is a giant turtle lol.

A friend remarked how the Mind Flayer resembles Iris somewhat from Gamera 3, but I actually wasn’t thinking of Iris, I was thinking of the evil soft shell turtle from Gumball lol. Still a happy accident I’m happy with.

As a personal continuity note, the early Stranger Things and Heathers stuff with Braverman and JD take place in the regular 80’s TMNT cartoon era. Post Heathers, when the Upside Down starts taking root elsewhere like Ohio and New York, takes place in the Red Sky seasons of the original cartoon.

Ratrace is pry my first TMNT OC, but he’s specific to Stranger Things/Heathers.

In the AU, Mutagen (which can also be found in the Upside Down alongside Nucleon & sparse Energon deposits) is responsible for Eleven’s mutation, giving her psychic powers.

At some point, while locked in Hawkins Labs, she made friends with a mouse and kept it as a secret pet. Exposure to raw Mutagen and from Eleven petting it, caused the mouse to evolve into a curious humanoid child.

Like Eleven, he has psychic powers, though underdeveloped, but to set him apart, he has super speed, hence his name. Contrary to what you might think, Ratrace is a big fan of Speedy Gonzales and sees him as a male role model. Unlike other mice, Ratrace is actually lactose intolerant (he has to scrape cheese off pizza to the Turtles’ shock), and has an interest in mechanics, motorbikes and off road vehicles. He was not aware of Rat Fink until Dustin Henderson brought up.

Hawkins Labs, as it turns out, was experimenting with other TMNT type Mutants, with Ratrace being an accident on Eleven’s part, but one Eleven was fiercely protective of. Unfortunately the two ultimately had to part ways, as several other kids and Mutants managed to escape the lab following a prison break.

Some stayed in Hawkins, but others branched out to New York hearing about the legend of the Ninja Turtles.

During a school trip to New York where Eleven, JD, Braverman, Mike & the gang got tangled up in a plot by Shredder, Eleven would reunite with her “brother”, who had tried to start over in New York as much as he wanted to stay with Eleven.

When the Upside Down started to branch out beyond Hawkins into Ohio and New York, a now teenage Ratrace took up arms against Vecna’s expansion. His powers more refined, he was part of a three pronged psychic attack with Eleven and Will Byers against Dimension X troopers and Demogorgons.
