OUR NEW EPISODE IS OUT!
In this episode of Digging Diversely (episode 07 or 08, depending on how you look at it), we have a special guest. Broadway Actor Dan Horn spoke with us about his time on stage. He talked about his time as a swing for Cinderella and Bullets Over Broadway, and he discussed his time working with George Takei in Allegiance Musical, a play about he story of the Kimura family, whose lives are upended when they and 120,000 other Japanese-Americans are forced to leave their homes following the events of Pearl Harbor.
Did I mention that he was in this play with LEA SALONGA, you know the singing voice of PRINCESS JASMINE and MULAN?!?!?
You can find this episode, and all the rest, on iTunes, Stitcher Google Play, our website, or using the RSS Feed (http://diggingdiversely.libsyn.com/rss).

#HolidayGifs - Day 16
Get to know ensemblist Dan Horn!
Come back every day this month for something new!
Over the next several months the National Center for Family-Integrated Churches will post (every Monday) one of the sessions from their 32-part series on the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith entitled, Family Foundations in Sound Doctrine.
I was going to wait to round all these up (I still will) but since they are coming out one at a time (once a week, and there will be 32 of them) I didn’t want to wait 32 weeks to let y’all know about this resource that they are giving away. That way you may follow along as the videos are released.
Pastors Scott Brown, Jason Dohm, & Dan Horn
What is unique about these videos is that the three pastors in the video (Scott Brown, Jason Dohm, and Dan Horn) not only explain the chapter and the relevant Scripture texts, but also show how it is applicable to church and family life. And they do so while sitting around in one of their living rooms with some of their family there.
Each session is an hour long and goes through one chapter of the confession.
You can stream what they’ve released below [we’ll update this as they come out]:

Chapter 2: Of God and of the Holy Trinity – The Key to Everything: A Vision of God [download]:
http://ift.tt/1Ed6MmL
It is critical that our churches and families have a biblical understanding of the doctrine of God. Our view of God affects every aspect of our lives: our response to the trials of life, how we interpret Scripture, our view on current issues, and many other situations.

Chapter 3: Of God’s Decree – God Is in Control [download]:
http://ift.tt/1dKiwrp
God’s Sovereignty and man’s responsibility – this theme has been the subject of much debate throughout church history. If God’s sovereign, then why do we need to evangelize? Why do we need to pray? Doesn’t man have a free will?
Questions like these and many others show just how critical it is that we have a biblical understanding of the doctrine of the decrees of God. Those who have had a wrong understanding of this doctrine have advocated destructive practices, such as: evangelism is not necessary; and, on the other side, man is completely sovereign, so we ought to do everything we can to make them make a decision for God.

Chapter 4: Of Creation – How Important is the Environment? [download]:
http://ift.tt/1Ed6MDd
When someone says “Creation” or “Evolution,” we often think of it in terms of its impact on science; but this issue also affects other area of our thinking. It impacts our views on the environment, the complementary roles of man and woman, work, and other areas.
Most importantly, if God is the Creator of all things, then He owns all things. It puts man in a completely different category, an infinitely inferior category, since man is God’s creation and He is the Creator. We are the clay, He is the potter, and He can mold us and use us as He pleases.

What does the Bible say about church discipline?
Please join me (Scott Brown), Dr. Joe Morecraft, Jeff Pollard, Dan Horn, Jason Dohm, Dan Ford, Lael Weinberger, and Rob Ventura as we examine what Scripture has to say about this important issue.
This conference will be held at Hope Baptist Church, July 9-11, 2015. To help prepare you for this conference, we would like to give you a copy of Lael Weinberger and Bob Renaud’s book, A Tale of Two Governments for FREE when you register. For more information and to register, go to the conference page. We hope to see you there!
Conference Overview:
At this conference we will bring an exegetical understanding and practical application of the various texts of Scripture that deal with the matter of discipline in the church. The Wells of Salvation for Church and Family – Isaiah 12:3
At this conference we will continue the work of rebuilding the most powerful of God’s earthly discipleship and evangelism engines – The Church and the Family. How is this possible? It is possible when church and family life are joyfully watered from the wells of salvation, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation,” (Isaiah 12:3). This text identifies the thread that we will pull throughout this gathering.

There will also be a pre-conference:
