if i had a pound for every irish queer coming-of-age film starring fionn o'shea that featured two closeted gay characters discovering each other's sexualities by seeing each other at a gay club and reenacting this post:
i would have two pounds.
which might not be a lot but by god its a specific trope.
I re-watched Handsome Devil the other day after downloading it again to save it on to my external HD of excellent queer media for safe keeping ...
... (you already know that Red, White, And Royal Blue is also on there and still watched daily) and it dawned on me that Henry during his days at uni was probably basically Conor and Ned in one right down to having one of their faces which is why they beautifully stayed platonic friends despite both being queer (they needed an Alex to come along and have more of a push-pull dynamic with them) except blond English royalty instead of brunet and redheaded Irish misfits.
I would have said that it must have been very lonely, because at least Conor and Ned had each other and Mr. Sherry, but then I realized that Henry probably went to uni with Pez, and then I got mad, because we deserved more of that bestieism and some of Pez flirting with Alex to egg Alex and Henry on like we got in the book (plus his whole polyamory plot with June and Nora being that there was no June).
I'd watch that six-and-a-half-hour-long movie. Who's with me?
@christopherlightwoodchasm has me finally posting about this and here's why.
These are different blue shirts, right? Either way, it's a look that works for him.
my top fifteen fictional characters:
1. james nightingale - hollyoaks
2. kurt hummel - glee
3. mickey milkovich - shameless
4. brendan brady - hollyoaks
5. trevor phillips - grand theft auto 5
6. travis montgomery - station 19
7. ste hay - hollyoaks
8. burt hummel - glee
9. elliot 'starchild' gilbert - glee
10. jake peralta - brooklyn nine nine
11. chandler bing - friends
12. dan sherry - handsome devil
13. felix weston - love, victor
14. craig pelton - community
15. finn mcnamara - life is strange 2
Pascal went on this whole ass homophobic rant about not wanting Conor to play music and he was utterly destroyed by Dan just going “you have apple in your beard” and i think we should all aspire to be as petty as Dan Sherry
Press fast forward, press rewind
Either way I just don't wanna be here right now
