Disco Dance Dizzy
"Disco" horrified everyone through the 80s and 90s.
Okay, and what is Midge's game in this story anyway?
She comes in disguise, blonde wig, and in Archie Comics that is all it takes to go incognito. As near as I can tell, there should be no reason she wouldn't let Archie and Reggie in -- "hi, you know me, I'm Midge". Though at that point given the structures of this particular story if not other stories -- they would not be fighting to dance with her and wouldn't end up getting chased for a beating from Moose as she sits by pleased with the scene.
Bachelor Mother, 1939
From 1937, Ginger Rogers and Ann Miller from a scene in the movie "Stage Door":
Ann was a newcomer to Hollywood, and wanted to make the most of her opportunities by sharing a scene with the established star Ginger Rogers. However, Ann was so much taller than Ginger the director had dismissed the possibility of using them both in the same scene... until Ann suggested to him, "I can wear a higher top hat and a lower heel—if she could put on a little higher heel and a little lower top hat". Ginger Rogers didn't wait on the director; she laughed and said, "Okay string bean, you got it". With that Ann's suggestion was accepted, and you can see the result in the picture below. Her career took off from there!
Fast forward to February 1950: Ann and Ginger remained friends. They're shown below in a Charleston Dance Contest at the Mocambo Nightclub on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood; aka "Sunset Strip". I don't know who won the dance contest, but in any case it seems clear they are enjoying themselves!
Some references for Ann Miller: 1, 2, 3 ; and for Ginger Rogers: 1, 2, 3
prepare for trouble, we’re gonna steal the show!!! ❤️❤️❤️
