My copy of Miki Takaesu's single "Red Star" finally arrived in the mail earlier today after having to wait two weeks lol. I scanned and ripped all the contents of the CD, which I already uploaded to the Internet Archive for those who want to check that out. I'll be uploading the single to YouTube either today or tomorrow.

Oh Cindy… I’ve missed you so much…

I wouldn’t describe my current state as “in an art block” but I definitely feel stifled in some ways. Something [or, someones, harhar] that makes me feel a little better are my Lord and Saviours, Cusu-Cusu. Lately, I have been drawing nonstop and quite frankly ridden with inspiration but my stupid perfectionism and depression won’t let me finish anything or even be in the mood to. However, those four wonderful ladies bring me so much consistent comfort that even if a drawing is a simple sketch, I may be so inclined to actually finish it. Which is still something I struggle with but Hey ! Look ! This one’s finished and it looks great !! SHE looks great. And it only took me just over 2 hours so I don’t have much of a reason to not do these kinds of drawings all the time.

Sorry not sorry to all the muppet fans that have really made themselves comfortable here again, I know I only post whenever I have a drawing to show but muppets are still fucking hard to draw so you’re going to have to accept this QUEEN. If you want anything muppet-y from me, you’re gonna have to send me an ask or something…. [actually no, send me asks about dolls instead [I collect them [dolls are my biggest interest so ask me things about dolls [not muppets [just kidding you can do whatever you want]]]]]

Bust a Groove & GrindFiction

I always felt like Bust a Groove had some of the early depictions of Grind Fiction before it was created. Bust a Groove has alot of city based themes with a huge variety of songs that capture many feelings, not to mention the way the characters were drawn always reminded me of the Jet Set Radio Vector art.

I cant help but wonder if Bust a Groove should be included in the Grind Fiction scene, since it does lack a huge emphasis on rebellion, street life, and Such despite it beind a part of many characters and their themes (Strike, Kelly, and Members of Jumbo Max are just a few examples.). Another thing i wonder is that if Bust a Groove had a chance to grow, would it be able to fall under Grind Fiction media? We already know its horrid run where it started off strong before Dance Summit 2001 was made to only be limited to Japan and such, and well..clearly they had an IDEA for the game, just went so horrid. (Someone on Reddit said they wished the game got picked up by SEGA, and I firmly stand by that.)

For now, my take is that Bust a groove was one of the earliest depictions of Grind Fiction in the making before Jet Set Radio.
