Once their daughter was born, Katniss took hours to let go of her once she had her in her arms. Peeta waited patiently for his turn, of course, but man was it tough.

Art of all kind works its way back into their lives after the war. Peeta's baking and painting, Katniss's singing and a love for music she didn't have before. They find it all again and by the time the babies come along, dance parties are not at all out of the question.

When The Capitol was hijacking Peeta, it took double the amount of tracker jacker venom and brainwashing to get him to crack. His resolve was astounding, but nevertheless :(

Gale never tries to reach out to Katniss after the war. Initially, Katniss is a little shocked by it, expecting that after some time he'd try to reach out, to explain himself better, something. Anything. She feels like she deserves that as part of her healing process, but soon, she realizes that he's done her a favor. Maybe the first where he didn't expect anything from her in return.

Quite simply, Haymitch lives long enough to meet both Toastbabies.

thinking of you: chapter 5: Sketchbook

As I'm sure most of you know, @dandelionsunset1210 writes beloved post-Mockingjay everlark fics. I fell back into everlark/thg late last year and hers were among the first fics I started reading (can't remember if it was In the Kitchen or Five, Ten, Fifteen, but one of those fics was at the top of my ao3 screen as I stumbled my way around the website. I DEVOURED that fic and everything else she's written before and since then).

Anyway, I wrote a one-shot based on a reference made in Five, Ten, Fifteen that would fit in with her I just need this love spiral fic. 🥰

I’m looking for a fic I read a few years ago and I apologize now because I can only remember one specific chapter and I don’t know if that’ll be enough to find it. It’s a canon compliant toastbaby pregnancy fic, the chapter I remember Katniss has a miscarriage scare and has to stay overnight in the hospital. I’m pretty sure the doctors name is Sage and also I think Rory’s daughter is in the hospital too? I’ve searched all the pregnancy fics I have bookmarked and couldn’t find it so it might have gotten deleted. Thanks!

I have this vague idea that Katniss and Peeta have complementary anxieties around parenting. Katniss’s everyday worries revolve around physical harm, and Peeta will overthink the emotional repercussions of small decisions. Obviously they both care about both components, but for example:

When their daughter climbs her first tree - Katniss is terrified that she’ll fall and hurt herself while Peeta, on the other hand, is more worried over how their daughter will internalize their words if they tell her she can’t climb it.
