to this day the funniest thing danganronpa has ever done is have nagito komaeda be an anagram of makoto naegi (da), make him have a similar silhouette to makoto naegi, share the same talent as makoto naegi, have similar sprites to makoto naegi, have the same voice actor as makoto naegi, only to have nagito have NOTHING to do with makoto naegi
i’ve always wondered if the 11037 thing was just a loss from translating it into english. because to english speakers, yeah, it’s glaringly obvious that it’s meant to say leon. but like. leon’s name card isn’t written in english in the japanese version. it’s in kanji. so i can’t help but think the easiness of the case was just literally lost in translation, because i feel like the idea of sayaka having written leon’s name in english is something that would come less naturally to the original audience, no? and just gets written off as stupidly easy/obvious because that reveal doesn’t work when the game itself is already in english
hajime hinata is the funniest character ever because he has absolutely 0 swag and even less sex appeal yet literally 90% of his classmates desire him carnally. he does NOT deserve that many bitches what the fuck do they all see in him
the instant downwards spiral of danganronpa’s female characters after thh is so insane to me. like while thh has its issues and is no way perfectly written its female cast is largely treated like Normal People with real motivations and complex inner lives on par with the male cast. and then you get to literally every other game in the series and it’s like. killing women off to enhance male characters’ development. obscenely obvious pedo bait. literally 0 character. sexualized sa victim. killing women off to enhance male characters’ development. killing women off to enhance male characters’ development.
thought about transfem kazuichi souda again
no bc what did she mean by this
I still think kiibo should’ve had moments where the audience imput takes over. Let him try to interrogate people, let him make random comments to the others
LITERALLLYYYYY!!!! kiibo suffers from the same thing as tsumugi in which they attempted to have their twists be unpredictable/something you couldn’t see coming. but by doing so it makes them super boring characters and contribute little narratively until said twist, upon which they. also make for really boring characters. having kiibo even show a Little more audience input would’ve been so cool and added so much more to the final conflict especially if he was antagonistic but noooo. we can’t have fun in v3
thh’s chapter one is still so funny to me because like. it does kind of make sense as to why sayaka chose leon of all people. she’s very good at reading people and it’s not hard to see that leon will instantly drop anything for a pretty girl, plus his wish to become a musician was something she could easily use as an excuse to talk to him. and it’s not as if sayaka is completely unathletic as an idol, but also. he’s the ultimate baseball star. he doesn’t even practice and he’s naturally strong and fast enough to have gained an ultimate title. her plan was to ambush him sure but HOW did she ever see that as a fight she could win even assuming he was caught off-guard
