Pride, Prejudice, & Zombies.....vs MORE Prejudice.
So I'm exploring Tumblr and decide to check out the PP&Z tags to see what gifs i can find and see other peoples thoughts to the movie (which has been an overwhelming love for it). Seeing peoples reactions to PP&Z on tumblr made me happy. Aaaaaaaand then theres the 1% "critics" (and i use the term lightly). Most of them are people with a blog who consider themselves critics One guy actually admitted halfway through his "review" that hes not even a fan of P&P and has never read the PP&Z book and called the original P&P a "boring mess" before continuing to Shyte all over this movie. ......and then it hit me. I NERD-RAGED. I caught myself saying out loud: "First off, what qualifications do you have to be considered a critic? Cause all im reading is "douche with a keyboard". 2nd, you ADMITTED you dont even like the original source so that means you were biased before u even went into this movie and as a critic (whether it be art, music, film, books, or food) you cant do that. 3rd, your crapping over the fact that the zombies are cognant, have armies, and "aristocrats" in this movie and complaining that "zombies dont do that"....really? REALLY?! Cause in the past TEN YEARS alone we have seen SEVERAL versions of zombies then just the classic standard version (even Romero has admitted he likes the differant flavors of zombies) And if you REALLY want to get technical there keyboard boy (emphasis on BOY cause all i hear is a tantrum) your "purist" version isnt even the original zombie, buuuuuuut you'd know that if you even bothered to crack open a book instead of shitting on a classic just so you can sound important ya Walnut. Also, don't think i dont see your underlying message and stopping just short of a "this is a stupid feminist movie" just cause it showcases strong women that JUST SO HAPPEN to fight alongside of strong men" "So pack up your keyboard, shove that thing you call a "dick" that your trying to wave around back in your shorts, wipe the snot off of your nose, go apologize to your momma, go READ A BOOK and a take a course ( or two), then AFTER youve learned a thing or two you can come back and then maybe just MAYBE il take what you say under consideration. But until then JUNIOR? GET YOUR IGNORANT, SELFISH, HATING, "IM GONNA CRAP ON OTHER PEOPLE SO I SOUND IMPORTANT" AMATEUR CRITIC BULLSHIT OFF MY DASH." *throws a tissue rag* "Oh And wipe yourself off, ya BLEEDING on my carpet"
I cannot stress how pleased I was with the storyline of Becky and her boyfriend. Being neuroatypical myself, it is stressful and frustrating when people don't quite get that, yes, we do have the urges everyone else does. My boyfriend, who is NT (neurotypical) like Becky's boyfriend, actually did the same thing he did when I told him about my hydrocephalus, and learned as much as he could; and it makes a world of difference.
I think the stereotype of people who have learning/mental disabilities like Down’s or autism as perpetual children, unable to grow or mature or develop in the same ways as neurotypical people, is deeply dehumanizing and downright gross.
Just because you have a disability that prevents your brain from working in certain ways considered “neurotypical”, it doesn’t mean you should be treated like a child and not be given the chance to do all the things other people do.
Becky is exactly like every other teenager her own age and is consistently portrayed as such in the show. She joins the Cheerios, goes to class, has crushes and dates boys she likes, she goes to college and meets someone new who understands that she isn’t constrained by her disability, nor should she be.
What Glee does with Becky is when the show is often at its most progressive. She’s just like everyone else, the only difference is that she has Down’s, and in the long run, that doesn’t even matter, because her condition is not a flaw or an obstacle. It respects the fact that she does have different needs, whilst at the same time, not being patronizing or taking away her agency in her own life.
Sorry for the late responses! I got invaded by kidlets.

Yeah, I used to do that all the time when I wrote fics.
I should do it...

if it's on ao3 i think they have an orphan option! if it's elsewhere.....yeah you should probably just delete, ha :)
It's on ao3, livejournal and another website... I have to figure out the orphan option though.

just how much do you hate it?
A lot. A very much a lot. I wrote it because I wanted someone to like me as a friend (terrible reason, I know, but back then I was desperate. No different now but now I just can't write, so, yeah). It's a kink that I loathe now and was on the fence of writing at the time. I actually hate the fic itself a lot but it's one of my most 'hitted' fics on ao3. D=
Update: I deleted it. There's only one place I can't delete it from and that's a kink meme because I posted it anonymously on there. Damnit.

Psh, Ravenclaw kicks both their arses. Wit beyond measure, suckers.
I agree! I love Ravenclaw as well, but I don't think I'm smart enough. :)
I am in love with your story Beautifully Wrong. I have 3 different chronic illnesses, and while I am in no way trying to compare the two, your depiction of FtM Blaine reminds me of myself and the headspace I can find myself in. One of my biggest fears was telling my boyfriend about my shunt for my hydrocephalus; but when I had to have surgery last summer he was there almost every day.
Thank you! I'm glad you like the story.
Sounds like life handed you a raw deal, but that boyfriend of yours seems like a keeper. c:
