Thinking so hard about Steve being asked to throw first pitch at a Dodgers game. Steve is hesitant because he still hasn't quite adjusted to the whole LA thing, but he agrees anyway, much to the joy of the people in charge of his reaclimation to society. People REPEATEDLY explaining to Steve that its a ceremonial thing, please dont lob thr ball as fast as you can Steve, please god. Steve's just elated to have the opportunity to pitch at a real ball game.

Anyway I think day of Steve pinky promises to not throw the ball at full strength. He does not want to injure any of the players after all. :) I think he gets a jersey with the Brooklyn B embroidered it and I think he gets a bit emotional about it.

He doesn't tell anyone baseball was always Bucky's thing. Steve was always perfectly happy to sit on the bench(the stairs at the Johnson's front porch) and watch Bucky play, running and jumping as hard as his little kid legs could take him. He doesn't bother telling the story of how Bucky nearly cried when he got the letter from home that his baby sister was playing for the All-American Girls League. He keeps all those stories tucked in his back pocket. No one would listen, anyhow. They want Captain America.

And as Steve takes to the mound and looks around at the people in the stands, all he can think is how Bucky should have been here, too.
