Sentinel/Engineer, Colonist, War Hero

Earth - Where was your Shepard born?

Originally born on Benning, moved to Mindoir at age 8.

Milky Way - What is your Shepard’s full name? Do they have a nickname?

Danielle Alisa Shepard. Nickname is Dani

Constellation - Does your Shepard have a family? Are they alive?

Her parents and siblings (3 brothers - 2 older/1 younger) are deceased. She does have uncles, aunts, and cousins still alive though.

Nebula - Who is your Shepard’s best friend?

Not sure yet but leaning towards Garrus

Stars - Who is your Shepard’s LI?

She romanced Kaidan in ME but Thane will likely be a good fit for her in ME2.

Moon - Did your Shepard have any dreams as a child? (dream job, plans for future etc)

Dani really wanted to be a school teacher when she grew up.

Sun - Was there a person in your Shepard’s life that changed their view on life/the world?

Thane and Samara. They both in their own ways helped her find peace with the experiences she'd had and how to live with making choices that aren't always "good") on paper". She admired their codes they followed, no matter the situation.

Dark nebula - Is there something they’d change about their past?

Dani would absolutely want her parents and brothers back. She will never fill the void in her life that their losses have left behind.

Dwarf star - When was your Shepard’s first kiss?

Her first kiss was when she was 10 with a girl that she'd been out playing with in the fields one day.

Dark energy - Are they a biotic? If yes, how old were they when their powers started to show?

Yes she is, around age 12.

Ion - Does your Shepard have any tech skills? (engineering, hacking etc)

Yes, engineering skills mostly. She's okay at hacking but her engineering skills are far better.

Meteor - Does your Shepard have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

Dani hums to herself often. Her mother sang around the house a lot and Dani would usually hum whatever her mother was singing. Now she hums as a way to remember her mother and the joy and comfort her singing brought her.

Stardust - What kind of clothes do they usually wear off-duty? (sporty, elegant or specific clothes like sweatpants, jeans etc)

Dani has an artsy fashion style. Be it colorful or bold or quirky, she wears what feels right when she goes to put on clothes that aren't armor or military gear.

Comet - What is your Shepard’s sexuality?

Dani identifies as bisexual.

Supernova - When did your Shepard decide to join the Alliance? Was there a breaking point in their life that made them want to become a soldier?

After Mindoir, she basically wanted to get away from everything and keep herself occupied. She thought the military would help do that.

Black hole - What is your Shepard’s greatest fear?

Separation, although more specifically It could be described as having to watch those she loves die.

Star cluster - Does your Shepard have any mental illnesses and if yes, do they visit a therapist or talk to someone about it?

Dani does live with depression and PTSD. She's had a therapist since Mindoir happened.

Galaxy - Under what circumstances do they find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?

Killing when there are other options you can utilize is out of the question for her. She will always try to find a way to keep from unnecessarily killing. If negotiation is an option, she'd rather open a dialogue instead. Now obviously there are situations that just aren't possible and whatever needs to be done is done but she doesn't do so easily.

Huh... the Garrus romance content in ME2 is... underwhelming. 

Some of the awkward dialogue in the conversations was amusing, but overall I didn’t get any emotional attachment in this romance. The best friend relationship my previous Shepards had with Garrus was at least as meaningful, if not more so. I’m kind of disappointed. People kept telling me I had to try romancing Garrus, and I don’t really understand why. Is the good content in ME3 and I just haven’t gotten there yet?
