Walter is told by his boss to deliver an urgent letter to Henri de Corinthe. On the way he finds a beautiful woman he had been eying in a nightclub, lying in the road, bound up.
What does it all mean? Dream logic and being a dream within a dream comes to mind. But I guess it's best to avoid such a question because I don't think there is a clear answer.
I can see some references to Magritte and a faint connection with Last Year at Marienbad. But overall this wasn't for me.
Though the brief appearance of Daniel Emilfork as the inspecteur provided some amusing, lighter moments.
I wondered if character names like Zeitgeist and Morgentodt have any additional meaning.
