I was tagged by the amazing @ominouslester What’s your ultimate goal in life? To make every day mean something, to contribute something to the world. What genre of books do you prefer? Fantasy, adventure, with a pinch of non-traditional romance. If you had to give up your internet connection for a week what would you do during that time? Read deathly hallows bc I have it downloaded. Also probably be really really bored and just lie on my bed and do nothing. A movie rec? The perks of being a wallflower. The breakfast club. If you could choose to be really talented at one thing what would it be? Definitely writing and language, like, having a huge vocabulary or smthn. What do you appreciate most in a person? Intelligence, creativity, ability to hold an interesting conversation, common sense. If you could give me one piece of advice from your life experience so far what would it be? "Dan?"
A man about their age approached them with a rather large smile on his face.
"Cameron?" Dan said standing up. "Oh my god. I haven’t seen you since Forest! How’s it been?"
"Great." Cameron hugged Dan, careful to not spill his Starbucks.
"Good. Oh! Let me introduce you to my—"
"Phil." The man in question stood up and awkwardly put out his hand. Cameron smiled and shook it cordially.
"I’ve seen your videos. You’re doing pretty well for yourself, Dan."
Dan eyed Phil wearily but thought nothing of his odd behavior. “Thanks. Hey, do you want to sit with us, if you’re free.”
"Sure."
After Cameron sat down, he and Dan reminisced about their high school days and old girlfriends… and apparently old boyfriends. Phil felt thoroughly left out.
"Do you remember our first date?" Cameron chuckled.
"Your what?" asked Phil, eyeing Dan and Cameron with confusion.
"Yeah, Dan and I tried dating for a few minutes. It didn’t work out."
Dan sat in silence, blushing, not really knowing what to say to Phil. He knew Dan had experimented before they met, but not dated. Jealousy overcame him.
Cameron sat back in his chair smirking at Dan’s reaction. “I’ve been meaning to get in touch with you, maybe pick up where we left off.”
"I…I…" stuttered Dan. Phil saw his uncharacteristic inarticulateness and acted the way he knew best. Leaning over, his took a hold of Dan’s chin and held him in place before pressing his lips to Dan’s. The kiss last just a few seconds but it got the message across.
"You’re together?" Cameron sighed.
Dan nodded, smiling at Phil, knowing that look in his eye. “Five years.”
"Oh."
"Yeah," Phil said with a sense of finality. ‘He’s mine’ was left unsaid but greatly understood.
