Finally did a Patreon wallpaper! I wanted to participate in Mermay but also I wanted to draw Cybergem stuff to get back in the swing of things so WHY NOT BOTH? Marine animals with prosthetics are already a thing so Cyborg mermaids are totally doable. Just adapted Satoko’s biomech to be something a fish could be fitted with (most of the movement’s controlled with her shoulders).

I don't really have a question, I just want to say that Danny is adorable, and I want him to know that. He is very adorable, and I hope we'll get to see more of him as the comic runs.

2, 6, and 12 for Danny?

1. What’s your name?

He signs the word “mute” with the letter D, then realizes his mistake of using his sign name and spells out his full name instead. 

[ D-A-N-N-Y B-E-G-B-I-E. Good to meet you.]

2. How old are you?

[ I have just turned 21! ]

3. How would you describe yourself, as a whole, in ten words?

He thinks for a long moment. Each sign is punctuated with another pause.

[ Studious… Listen… Intelligent… Determined… Lucky? I am out of words, sorry.]

4. What’s your favorite food?

He grins.

[ Anything spicy, though my favorite is when Miss L-A-C-E-Y gives me some extra peppers with dinner. The others make funny faces when I eat them straight. ]

5. How do you feel about your job situation?

[ I was promoted to Biomech technician recently! I am enjoying it very much. Biomech has always been my special interest so it is great to be working with it every day. ]

6. What’s your most treasured possession?

[ My marble collection. I have a lot of very nice ones, and I will carry some around in my pocket sometimes to fidget with. S-E-R-A will sometimes shoot marbles with me. The others try, but S-A-T-O-K-O gets too frustrated. I tell her it’s okay though. I enjoy that she keeps trying anyway. Maybe someday she’ll get the hang of it. ]

7. What’s your favorite song?

[ I enjoy calm electronica music the most. I try to make my own music sometimes, but I am still getting the hang of it. ]

8. If you could meet anyone in the world, from any time, who would it be?

[ I would like to meet our CEO, Mr. S-I-E-B-R-E-C-H-T. He is still alive, but he invented Biomech and it would be a great honor to meet him for myself. ]

9. What are your most and least favorite things about yourself?

[ My favorite thing is my hair! It is very soft and S-E-R-A likes petting it.]

He smiles, embarrassed, then begins fidgeting.

[ I guess I wish I could speak when people feel inconvenienced by me. However, my friends have all gone out of their way to learn sign language just for me, so I try to remind myself that I am very lucky to have them. ]

10. Can you tell us a little about what you’re wearing right now?

[ Right now I am in a sweater and slippers and my vest. Thankfully I only have to wear my itchy lab coat when I am on the clock. ]

11. Are you in a relationship?

Danny stares blankly and shakes his head, reluctant to elaborate further.

12. Can you tell us about a certain piece of juicy gossip that’s been going around?

[ No, I don’t really hear any. When I do, I try to forget it because I don’t want people asking me about it later…]

6. What were they like at school? Did they enjoy it? Did they finish? What level of higher education did they reach? What subjects did they enjoy? Which did they hate?

Any Agents brought in before they finished high school are required to complete their education on premise in their free hours. After that, they are allowed to pursue further education online on a partial stipend from the company, but Danny did not choose to pursue this, as he was not really thrilled by what general schooling–English and History in particular gave him a lot of trouble. Instead, technical and medical workers receive certification through on the job training (equivalent to attending a trade school) so he indulged his interest in biology and math by pursuing the path of a BioMech technician.

34. What is their body type? How tall are they? Do they like their body?

Danny’s very lean. Not too bony, not particularly muscular, but he likes himself well enough. He’s 5′2″ so he wishes he were a little bit taller, but with Satoko and Sera both being shorter than him he doesn’t mind too much.

48. Do they enjoy any parties? If so what kind? Do they organise the party or just turn up? How do they act? What if they didn’t want to go but were dragged along by a friend? 

Loud parties are an absolute no-go, and everyone knows not to drag him to one. However, he does enjoy movie parties with friends! Sometimes the crew will pile into one of their rooms (usually whoever picked out the movie that time) and they’ll eat snacks and keep a running commentary on whatever’s playing. Danny’s only hosted a couple because he’s shy and worries that his friends won’t like his movie tastes but it’s always gone over fine. Even when Eric made fun of one of his favorites, it was still in a way that made him laugh.

45. How do other people see them? Is it similar to how they see themselves?

Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t know what to make of him. It takes practice to be able to read someone who’s nonverbal, especially someone who shuts down sometimes for what seems to be no reason (you dropped your tray of tools of COURSE he’s startled and upset). However, those who actually know Danny see him as reserved, sweet, and always second guessing himself too much despite being very intelligent, which is closer to how he views himself.

50. If they could only take one bag of stuff somewhere with them: what would they pack? What do they consider their essentials?

I’m assuming we’re not talking a deserted island here. He’d never go anywhere without his stim vest, though I don’t suppose it’d need to go in the bag in that case. After that, he’d probably end up bringing his sketchbook for its familiarity, a camera, an extra shirt, and some jello cups (the nerd always takes extras and hoards them in his room).
