Question for all Smart Doll owners!: how do you like them? Do they feel sturdy to you? Does the body (especially the new one that makes noises) feel stiff to pose? Was the buying experience easy and straightforward?

I've been curious about and following Smart Dolls since the prototypes and always liked Mirai, but the behavior of Danny Choo towards customers and some people's complaints about the fragility of the skeleton and lack of easily accessible replacement parts for repairs put me off buying them and led me to get DDs instead. I'm still curious about the dolls, but at this point all the reviews either seem to be from people who either really love Danny Choo and hate Volks or who really love Volks and hate Danny Choo, so I feel like they're too biased to really get any info out of.

My first Smart Doll, for extreme milestones. For my birthday month/ 950 days of sobriety from alcohol.

I've been looking at ball jointed dolls here on tumblr since 2014.

I know this isn't technically a ball-jointed doll, but it's of the realm, hand-made , resin slush casted, painted etc by a small team in Tokyo, ran and created by Danny Choo! This doll is extremely special to me, and to finally a Japanese doll like this after seeing such photos here.

Hi everybody Mum, Autumn and I had a fantastic time at Mini UK BJD Con in Reading on Saturday. It was our first time attending and we loved every minute of it! Autumn is rocking a new wig and my Mum customised her T-Shirt with the BC’s Doll Place Logo. There were so many fabulous photo sets and it was fantastic meeting friends old and new. My Smart doll

I got smart doll liberty which I named Tylah for my birthday in 2020 and paid half for her. I love her soooo much. Do you guys think I should save up for mirai? I’ve been looking at her on the website for 3 years now and she’s soo cute😭 and I think tylah needs a friend (don’t mind the bg i was in my sisters room)

LorelieCreations on Etsy (located in the US) is beginning to make sandals and shoes for Smart Doll girls. 💖 This shop is owned by Carol, who's absolutely wonderful (I don't know if she uses Tumblr, but she does have an Instagram page for her shop with the same name).
