DENTON: Friday July 3rd we'll be playing at Dan's Silverleaf with the greatness of The Fieros and Brave Young Lion!
The best.
So in all honesty - and hyperbole aside - last night (Friday, May 29 / 2015) was the best experience we've had as a band. The music was oh-so-lovely and solid and engaging, Jimmy was characteristically superb behind the board, the crowd was fantastic (!!!), and we had a blast performing.
Thank you to Bethan and Monk Parker for sharing the stage with us, to Dan's Silver Leaf for having us out, and especially to Jessi with Bethan and Alan Brown with Please & Thank You Booking for putting this show together. If you didn't get a chance to come out last night please take a moment and check these bands out, they're phenomenal.
We'll be playing here at home at the House on Locust at the end of June with two touring acts and Water Gun Water Gun Sky Attack, details to come.
Much love XOXOXOX - PMOON

The Spring Standards At Dan's Silverleaf (Show Review)
The Spring Standards Dan’s Silverleaf June 13, 2012
by John Lenox Cope
The Spring Standards are impossible to categorize. This should not come as a surprise based on the history of the Brooklyn band. The trio, James Cleare, Heather Robb, and James Smith, first started performing together as teenagers in the rural landscapes of the Pennsylvania/Delaware border. Their love of the “oldies” is apparent when listening to their compositions, especially their perfection of harmonization. The Spring Standards are able to record and perform songs that span multiple genres including folk, blues, psych, pop, and straight up rock ‘n’ roll. They truly offer something for everyone.
Last night, The Spring Standards played to a supportive crowd at the always wonderful Dan’s Silverleafin Denton. In a set that primarily consisted of material from their excellent new double-disc record,yellow//gold, the band surely satisfied their fans while gaining new ones in the process. The energy on stage was constant and infectious. Although much of the area in front of the stage was full of people seated at tables, there wasn’t a side conversation to be heard during the hour-long set. This is a band that will capture your attention.
It should be noted that the three members of The Spring Standards, and additional musician Noah Goldman, are all multi-talented in every sense of the world. Heather and the two James’s all share lead vocal duties and percussive responsibilities from song to song. Aside from Heather, everyone on stage is guaranteed to be switching instruments and positions throughout the set. This is far from distracting; it is thrilling. It makes the show even more unpredictable than it already would be given the genre bending. Speaking of genre bending, this is a band that can sound like Fleetwood Mac one second, The White Stripes a minute later, and then throw in a healthy dose of Beach Boys for good measure.
If you want to see a band that is excited to play live music, The Spring Standards are your group. The stage is in a constant state of undulation. I’ve never seen a more expressive band; every member offers a unique personality and movement to the performance. It is clear that there is no other place in the world they’d rather be than on stage. The only exception is when Noah momentarily stepped away from the pedal steel mid-song to jump off the stage and order another beer. I must admit, I had never seen that done, but I liked it.
In fact, I liked just about everything about last night’s show. There’s no better way to spend a Wednesday night than in the company of music lovers watching a high-energy, talented young band. After a rousing, overdrive-laden acoustic guitar solo, one member of the crowd yelled out, “That was badass!” I can think of no better phrase to summarize the night. The Spring Standards announced toward the end of their set that they’ll be back in the metroplex this fall. It should go without saying that I highly recommend you check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
