Although the the color 青 (qīng) in green-eyed fox corpse (青眼狐尸) is commonly translated as green, it can also be blue or green-blue.

Pingxie Fanvids - Double Standards

I know the English-speaking pingxie community is small, but the Chinese community is huuuuuuuge (with the caveat that fanworks is sometimes a bit decentralized and difficult to search, because China and these kind of works... boo).

One of my favorite subset of videos to find on BiliBili (Chinese Youtube), are ‘double standard’ videos. Or, how pingxie act with each other vs. with others. You can find them all by searching “瓶邪双标” here.

This is how they generally go:

Xiaoge to others: Ignores them, frowny face, ignores them, lets them suffer their own fate, glares at them, shoves them around / treats them roughly.

Xiaoge to Wu Xie: Attentive, responds to his questions, smiles, acts soft, saves him (like a lot), is super gentle with him, only ‘activates’ at the mention of Wu Xie, etc.

Wu Xie to others: Do not bomb relics Pangzi, hey we should turn back because danger, normal ish dude to dude (yes, A-ning is also a dude) interactions.

Wu Xie to Xiaoge: Like a lost puppy, always callling his name, ‘danger? what danger, xiaoge is three feet away already quick I gotta catch up’, ‘Pangzi where TF is your bomb we gotta save Xiaoge’

Here are some of my favs, one from each of the last three Daomu dramas with both of them (I’ve added some general explanations for non-speakers, though I’ve no idea how much that helps.)

The Lost Tomb 2

Wu Xie when listening to instructions (always Xiaoge)

Wu Xie when requiring manual labor (use Pangzi)

Wu Xie when Xiaoge is suspicious, and Pangzi cracks a joke (defend Xiaoge)

Wu Xie when both Xiaoge and Pangzi are getting out of the water (help Xiaoge)

Wu Xie when Pangzi says continue into danger (reject, lecture mode), when Xiaoge says continue into danger (OK, wait for me!)

Wu Xie when Xiaoge gets injured (worry), when Pangzi gets injured (ridicule)

Wu Xie when deciding to continue on (ignore Pangzi, worry about / defer to Xiaoge)

Wu Xie when both Xiaoge and Pangzi contributed to defeating the enemy (cut Pangzi's boasting short, praise Xiaoge)

Wu Xie when Pangzi saves Wu Xie (Ignores Pangzi - Xiaoge! I have to go save Xiaoge!)

Ultimate Note

Xiaoge when saving people (max comfort for Wu Xie, no regard for other)

Wu Xie when learning A-ning hired Xiaoge (how dare you hire my husband)

Wu Xie when opting to ‘hit’ someone (chooses Pangzi, never Xiaoge)

Xiaoge when seeing them fall (catch Wu Xie, let Pangzi fall on his ass)

Xiaoge when sensing something wrong with them AKA the parasitic mushroom - With Pangzi, knock him out, let him drop to the ground from standing, don’t let wife Wu Xie approach. With Wu Xie - catch him gently even though other is already squatting, handles gently)

Wu Xie when Xiaoge disappears into the meteorite (Pangzi get down so I can step on you to find Xiaoge)

(I think this one was published prior to completion of series, so a lot are missing. But it’s a bit more difficult to find a good comparison video for Ultimate Note that I can also easily explain.)

The Lost Tomb Reboot

Wu Xie when it comes to using bombs in tombs - Pangzi’s suggestion (ignore), Xiaoge in danger (Hurry up, Pangzi!)

Xiaoge when it comes to explaining things - If Wu Xie asks (explain thoroughly, draw a picture even, face fully to speak, volunteer information unsolicited, anything spoken must be responded to - even if he’s just saying he’s thirsty). If others (aka Liu Sang here) ask (ignore, don’t even look at, only turns to glare because other said something stupid like Wu Xie might be dead, leaves, don’t care, what’s this got to do with me, stop talking to me)

Xiaoge and Wu Xie in keeping pace with each other - Xiaoge with others (leave behind, eat my dust). Xiaoge with Wu Xie (turn to wait). Wu Xie with Pangzi (ignore). Wu Xie with Xiaoge (always wait, arms gently guiding).

Wu Xie when separated from others (call Xiaoge’s name first always).

Wu Xie when others get too close to Xiaoge (wtf are you doing Pangzi, smile at Pangzi’s joke immediately drops when Xiaoge jokingly agrees to be Pangzi’s belt accessory, ditches Pangzi when the former offers up the female doll to Xiaoge)

There are honestly so many... a lot of really good ones. But some are also way too difficult to summarily translate.

March Shopping - Part 1 (figures)

The pricier ones of the haul. My preciousssss. XD

Let’s start from the small ones, shall we?

Kuroko from Kuroko no Basket. It’s a used Kuji figure but was missing him from the gang.

Galo, my sunshine firefighter son from Promare! I hope I can get the Lio one as well... It’s a prize figure btw.

New uniform Tobio has arrived as well! Orange looks good on him (and I don’t mean Hinata by that, but maybe I am... XD). HQ!! will always have a special place in my heart, so I guess this is not the last figure.

Dr. Stone is a steady show for me - keeps me entertaining and when I saw this figure on AmiAmi in the pre-owned section (which will be the end of me btw), I thought - why not? And I did not regret - you’ll see in the separate post why.

SAO is one of my favorite isekai series for me (yeah, you can throw stones at my for my sh*tty taste but I will defend my son Kirito by any means necessary) and the Alicization series added to my hype - because of the birth of a new ship for me: Kirito x Eugeo (I still ship Kirito with Asuna though - one of the rare het ships I stan, but I also multiship, so yeah). This Eugeo figure caught my eyes on the cursed pre-owned section of Amiami - and he is here finally. Looking regal and beautiful. Fun fact: I don’t own a Kirito figure - yet. XD

Last but not least: my most random and most expensive figure purchase of all times. I didn’t know the character, I didn’t know the Chinese novel series (still don’t btw), but I saw this on CDJapan and fell in love at first sight. Meet Zhang Kylin (or Qiling) from Daomu Biji. It’s hands down the most beautiful figure I own. (And it’s the heaviest too.) The details, the beauty of it is out of this world’s. I don’t regret spending a sh*t ton of money on it (and yes, this one was caught by the customs so add 27% and 10 EUR more to the retailing price plus EMS shipping. 🙃 ) And I just figured out while taking photos of him why I fell so hard: he is the mix of my favorite anime boy type: Haru from Free!, Tobio from HQ!!, Uenoyama from Given etc. etc. etc. (And even a bit like Keith from Voltron, probably because of the blue dragon which reminds me of Kosmo.)

So yeah. New additions. Separate posts will follow with close-ups - as usual.

So I guess that's one way of deciding I'm not watching this show lol 🤷‍♀️

What even is the new season about? I'm so lost with all these adaptations (and I will miss S2 HuaYe🌸 so much)....

But yeah, I'm also only giving myself 2 weeks before I bet you I'm on bilibili looking for a Xiao Hua🌸 cut 🤦‍♀️
