Hot dog! It’s time for another Mickey Mondays post! We’ve got our Mickey and Friends plush, and we’re going to watch some Mickey and Friends animation! It’s another fantastic episode from The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse this week, so let’s get right to the fun!

The Animation: “I Heart Mickey” is another episode of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse that made an immediate impression on me. I love that this show often celebrated while poking fun at how much Mickey and Minnie love each other. Mickey literally giving Minnie a heart representing all of his love for her is a sweet, kind of gross idea, but “I Heart Mickey” turns the gesture into a small nightmare for everyone involved.

The heart quickly escapes from Minnie’s grasp, causing absolute havoc and destruction wherever it goes. Minnie tries to handle things on her own but quickly realizes she needs Mickey’s help. So not only does “I Heart Mickey” have some great visual gags and parody of Mickey and Minnie as a couple, but it also doubles down on why they have been such a wonderful pair for almost a century.

With a great supporting role by Goofy, and an incredibly action-packed ending that brings this entire remarkable episode to just around 8 minutes “I Heart Mickey” and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse in general is a hysterical and heartful reminder of what Disney can still do with these characters. You can watch this short clip above, but it seems like your only way to watch the episode in full is through Disney+!

The Plush: We’ve had a couple of Mickey and Minnie Mouse plush sets at this point, and I don’t want to focus on that those too often, but I couldn’t resist sharing this Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Valentines Plush Gift Bag. The “From my heart to yours” on the bag ties into this week’s post nicely. I love packaging like that. I try to keep it whenever possible.
