“Have you gone to see Matt?” Clint asks.
Natasha shakes her head. “Too many things to do, and he’s fine.” Evidently alive, which is more than she’d had before.
“Y’know, when you’ve got a job to do, you’re better at compartmentalizing than you think. No one suspects a thing.”
“Honestly, I wouldn’t care if they did.” Natasha swallows and buries her face in her hands. “I’m just…really glad he’s okay.”
“Natural.”
“I know.”
“Sometimes, you don’t seem to have typical human emotions.”
“Ha ha,” Natasha drawls out, sitting up again and turning to look at him. “All the loose ends are tied up, but I feel awful.”
“You need to see Matt,” Clint says.

She sits in the back of the Quinjet, clasps her hands together tightly, and consciously avoids biting her lip. If anyone notices, they don’t say anything, but Clint does make an effort to sit next to her. When they’re almost there, he takes her hand in his and straightens out her fingers, tries to make her relax.
“Don’t get a cramp now, when we’re so close,” he mutters to her.
She uncurls both hands, closes her eyes, and breathes in and out, over and over and over.
Matt, she thinks. Matt Matt Matt.

Natasha would like to think she knows her teammates very well by now. Unfortunately, that means she is absolutely certain Steve is about to do something endearingly stupid, and Tony is going to try to stop him while accidentally stoking the fire. And then it’s going to be a huge mess that they can’t afford right now. Natasha suspects T’Challa has tricks up his sleeve. Even though they have Sharon Carter on their side, Steve and Sam won’t be expecting T’Challa. He’s a wildcard. Barnes will be caught, no doubt. It’s what happens afterwards that Natasha is concerned about.

Then, she goes to gather evidence, because the Black Widow is unfortunately not known for her legal prowess. And yeah, she could go to more bigshot lawyers about this, maybe the ones Tony has on retainer, but this is personal. Sue her for wanting to go somewhere close to home first.
