Name: "My name is Jade Marianne Willows, but I also go by Greenfields, which was my father’s last name.“
Age: "I’m thirty years old.”
Date of birth: "February 18, 1988.“
Any previous training of magic?: "I’ve been studying magic since a very young age, pretty much since I can remember; my mother and grandmother started me off as early as they could.”
3 random facts: “First, I have an eleven year old daughter that lives with me, though recently I’ve been allowing her father visitation time and she’s also going to school so she won’t be with me a lot of the time. She’s been learning and practicing magic as well and if she is allowed to visit the coven with me, I think it would be a good experience for her to be around other witches and being and learn from them as well.”
“I come from a long line of witches - my ancestry can be traced back to the Salem Witch Trials. I’ve been told that my ancestors tried to keep their abilities a secret so that they could just live their lives and raise their families, but were caught in the middle of the persecution and some of them were killed, even though nobody had concrete proof. My surviving ancestors left Massachusetts and eventually came to settle in Salem, Oregon and, well, decades later I’ve been trying to do the same thing - just live my life as normally as possible while raising my little girl."
"And finally, I run a shop that mostly sells flowers and plants that I grow in a greenhouse connected to the store. I say "mostly sells flowers” because that has always been the primary point of the shop, but I also carry a variety of homemade herbal remedies made from the plants that I grow. My shop is open to everyone, humans or magic folk alike, but most people don’t know (although rumors are spread around, often by humans) that magic in involved with my business. And honestly, I prefer it that way.“
Power(s): Magic Casting: "I can cast spells that I learned from reading my Grimoire book that I’ve had since I was a kid. I’ve memorized most of what I’ve read so I don’t often need to have my spellbook with me when I cast."
Fire Specialty: "For as long as my family’s been around, it’s always been said that each generation of witch is born with a "specialty” - a type of magic that is unique to the witch that isn’t learned from Grimoire. Mine is the ability to manipulate and control fire. I don’t even need a spell chant to wield it, it just…happens.“
Animal Empathy/Transfiguration: "I own four animals - a cat, a crow, an owl, and a rat - who I adopted as pets but also serve as my "familiars”; I’ve bonded them to me with my magic (with their permission, of course), and even gave them humans forms through a spell that I found in my book - though, they do prefer to stay in their animal shapes more often. Because of our bond, I’m able to control and communicate with them through a kind of telepathic link - it’s how I can understand what they are saying when they are animals. I’m able able to see the world through their eyes - literally. The best way I can describe it is like, we share the same brain when it happens - if that makes any sense? I can’t do it with just any animal, though, they have to be bonded with me - that’s how the spell works.“
((OOC note: Jade is hesitant to mention anything about "Darkcaster”, the entity that she shares a body with born from a curse cast by the very ancestors mentioned above. Darkcaster is both the same person and an entirely different being at the same time - Jade always hears Darkcaster’s voice in her head and it’s constantly trying to break free from the chains Jade has restrained it in to take over her body and replace Jade’s consciousness with its own. But being that it does “live” inside of Jade, she is able to dip into it’s dark powers and use it as her own; however, she refrains from doing so as it can very well weaken Jade’s control and give Darkcaster more power to break loose.))
Hours of availability (in-character): “I run the Floral Gardens from 8 in the morning to about 2 in the afternoon, sometimes extending it to 3:00. But I’m not the only one that works at the shop; sometimes I have one of my familiars pose as a human to run the store or my sister will occasionally come in from time to time and work there, so my time can be adjusted to be available.”
I solemnly swear to share the sanctity of the group, treat it as my coven while respecting my fellow witches and treat them with fairness and equality. I further vow to never share it with outsiders.
