Be forewarned going into this that this is quite unhealthy and very dark. I don’t condone the actions of these characters.
It’s a dash of Book Ali with some of my own spices added, a different past, and a future in medicine (imagine the damage Book Ali could have done had she had surgical training at her disposal).
Emily is a mixture of Book Emily and Show Emily. Different characteristics from each one, similar past to Show Emily.
It’s Dexter meets Grey’s Anatomy meets CSI. It has elements of NAT and other serious topics in the show that were never addressed, including the gross older men preying on younger girls: ie: Wilden/Alison (it’s worth noting these topics are ADDRESSED, but there will be absolutely no graphic content in that respect. The graphic content warning is for the gore and violence).

Chapter 3: Interpersonal Therapy
Warnings: Dark themes, black humor, Emily being snarky, descriptive...things. And neurotic author’s note.
Please tell me the dark fix. Involved emison family? I would love a doc where all three kids appear
No Emison family in this one. Not sure I could ever top Still Waters Run Deep in terms of a dark Emison family fic. Intriguing idea of having all the kids just vanish though.
But how do you think it would affect them? Specially if their son was young when he died, specially by what we’ve seen in the perfectionists and the twins being a lot older in your fanfic timeline? I mean relationship wise
Realistically, a lot of the time when a child dies…the parents end up having major problems. I can’t speak for anything on The Perfectionists, because I haven’t seen beyond episode 2, so I don’t really how the personalities of Alison/Emily would be (from what I’ve heard, Alison seems really OOC in the series?).
I do think there would be some major strain between them. I could see one blaming the other (which tends to happen in grief). I could see Alison lashing out, which tends to be her go-to move when she’s hurting. And I could see Emily internalizing and overcompensating in other aspects of her life, which is exactly what her character does in the books/show. In the books, just the thought of her baby being in danger sent her careening into a dangerous situation without so much as a second thought about herself. In the series, it was blatantly obvious that she never talked about her feelings. She used unhealthy coping mechanisms.
I could see a lot of crying. I could see the twins fighting, blaming one another, and then eventually finding out that they need each other to get through it.
I get it, it must definitely must feel like a big responsibility. If you ever do feel like doing it I would love to read it
I’ve already got something in the works for it, but haven’t really looked at it in a while.
(also, side note...I’m trying to work through all my asks. I see you all).
