John Morrison is a Philadelphia based Rapper, DJ and Producer. He is also the Founder and Creative Director of Liberation Movie Night, an innovative event service that transforms Block Parties into open air Film Festivals. Liberation Movie Night has worked with numerous families, small businesses and community groups throughout the city.
Liberation Movie Night provides a professional sound system, a projector and a screen to bring the magic of the Movies live in neighborhoods. “I basically wanted to put a 21st Century spin on the old Drive in Theater experience and fuse it with the traditional Block Parties, BBQ’s and Family Reunions I grew up attending as a kid” Morrison says. “I see Liberation Movie Night as a vehicle to create community solidarity. Wherever we do an event the entire neighborhood comes out; children, teens and older folk, we all dance, have fun and watch a movie under the stars.”
In addition to his work with Liberation Movie Night, Morrison is quickly becoming an in demand DJ whose eclectic, high energy sets have rocked Bars, Night Clubs, Art Spaces and Dance floors throughout the city. Morrison prides himself on being able to play to a wide range of tastes “I was a weird kid that collected records, and always kept an open ear and mind. I’ll play Reggae, Hip Hop, Jazz, Old School, Psychedelic Rock, Punk, House, Soul and every micro-genre in between.” This eclectic DJ style will be put to a rigorous test in 2013 as Morrison embarks on a residency as the official DJ for R O C K E R S, one of Philadelphia’s longest running Monthly Parties a diverse showcase for the finest underground Punk, Metal, Hip Hop and Experimental bands.

Alyesha Wise, aka "Ms. Wise" is an International Poet, Teaching Artist and Speaker born in Camden, NJ. Currently residing in Philadelphia, Ms. Wise is the founder of the community arts organization, "Love, Us" - created to promote universal and self-love through the arts. Alyesha is a 2-time Women of the World Poetry Slam finalist and was the 5th ranked female poet in the world in 2010. Some of her highlights include a 2012 interview with American Film Director, Ron Howard - and being told by co-founder of Essence Magazine, Russell Goings, "In All, You Are Awesome."

Midwesterner, moonlighting as a creator.I don't deem myself am artist. I feel doing so only sets myself up for a preconceived thought, from my audience, toward what the end result of my creations should look like. I delve into many medium forms in hopes of producing all things organic for presentation. From afar, or above, earthbound structures can be viewed as perfections with straight lines. Up close, the flaws are seen and it is these flaws within my art that I appreciate the most. Nothing intentional, but again organic.

An avid fan of both science and science-fiction, comic books and 80s action films, Kennedy Allen tends to exist simultaneously between reality and imagination. Kennedy is the Co-Producer and Host of the internet radio sensation Black Tribbles. Through her involvement with this popular podcast, she has been an advocate for encouraging the introduction of STEM to children and people of color in the Philadelphia area for nearly three years. She has served as the Mistress of Ceremonies at the 30th Anniversary of WINS (Women In Natural Science), hosted by the Academy of Natural Sciences at the Union League in June, 2012. She also sat on the Black and Latino Imagery through Media panel at the 17th Annual Arturo Schomberg Symposium, hosted by Taller Puertorriqueño. Kennedy is also a nightlife and culture freelance writer for the Philadelphia Weekly.

For the last decade, DaQuan has been wowing people with his unique blend of spoken word, ritualistic singing and rhythm-driven high-energy rhymes. His mature solo style evolved alongside his project Sgt. Sass (founded with DeShawn Timothy and now expanded to include Philly DJ Nasty Sinatra), which has achieved great success in their native Philly and beyond.
For his sophomore album, DaQuan chose to work with producer Christopher McDonald, who is known for his multi-layered arrangements and unconventional recording style. Between week-long sessions at killingworthsound, Christopher's farm/studio retreat in Connecticut, DaQuan would record dozens of melodies, beatbox tracks, instrumental riffs and crazy sounds to send to him. Christopher would sample and reinterpret the material and out of this dialogue emerged a strange and wonderfully original sound world. Listening to the album is like wandering through the rooms of an art installation in which each room, while different from the others, seems to be having a conversation behind your back.
The album was released on February 25th 2013 . As performance art pioneer Allan Kaprow put it in 1959, "Only the artist's confidence in your support has made this event possible. Send your contribution -- $2 -- $5 -- $100 -- immediately: it's needed." And be sure to check out DaQuan when he comes to a venue near you; an energetic and captivating performer, he constantly pushes the limits between music and performance art.
