My husband got the Darksign from Dark Souls as his first tattoo today! Pretty fucking cool if you ask me.

And though I have walked a road of pain and felt like I died a hundred times, I shall always stand up again, cause that's what's important, not how many times we fall, but how many times we stand up.

I chose to continue, even though I felt the compelling embrace of the silence hereafter, I chose to not finish my sentence and keep going through this life, to live it. To rise above these thoughts of putting a full stop, i chose a semicolon to continue.

Those accursed with the darksign are doomed to live, even if they didn't want to, which is why they need to keep their internal flame alive, keep your goals in mind, find your sun and praise the fact you have one, none of us want to go hollow in the time we walk this earth, and thus its important to keep your light.

This flame has been rekindled many times, and I shall rekindle it again and again to lengthen my age of fire, my state of living, not the age of darkness. My fire shall be my guide, and I will try to be the other's guiding light as well. The flames represent the purest form of life, unchained.

This is why I made this design, and this is why it'll be eternally on my skin.

This is a fragment of the meaning behind it. And this is important to me.
