i agree with you about the NBC coverage of gymnastics, but i assumed part of it last night was that the replay only had a certain amount of air time before swimming which was live? obviously the focus on Simone was a big part of it as well, but i think the time zone difference compared to Rio and London has made gymnastics a victim of time which sucks because I want to see everyone’s routines on every apparatus. I was fuming last night when they came back from commercial and didn’t show grace’s floor routine! And I totally agree about not seeing great britain, especially since they had a huge come up in their last two rotations.
Yeah, I'm sure the time difference does make things difficult in picking and choosing what to show for prime time here. I remember Rio being live and was London live, as well (with their competition being in the morning)? It just felt like we were just seeing lots of Simone standing off to the side, determinedly not looking at a camera. And I feel like that time could have been used seeing someone else's vault or beam or uneven bars (I'm not sure we could have seen a lot of floors).
And I agree about Grace! I was watching it all on mute while preparing dinner, so I was just wondering if I had just missed it.
The GB thing just really miffs me, especially since @rumaan informed me that this is their first team medal since 1928...it's historic! And people in the US didn't get to see it!
