I like to think that Romeo has a crush kind of thing on Darcy (I mean, did you see how he just stared at him in Carrying The Banner?) so could you do headcanons for one sided Darmeo? /nf!!

Romeo asks Katherine to bring her friends along to any meeting they go to. And I don't mean just with the union even if the newsies are going to a bar or hanging at the lodge he'll ask Kathy to get Darcy to come and she figured why but it's always funny never the less. And she does comply sometimes though using the word ask for what Romeo is doing is an understatement he practically begs her /hj
When Darcy does get with them (Not quite as often as Romeo would like) he'll be all blushy around him. He'll also tug on the sleeve of his friend and make this annoying high pitched sound (squealing? That's what it called?)
And when Darcy goes away he'll just groan at how awful the whole interaction went. He's always hanging off of one of the boy's arms and complaing, groaning and just generally "Oh woe me! Why does he hate me? Why?" (only his close friends because majority doesn't know about his unrequited love)
He'll try to flirt. Not well but while Romeo is a flirt I don't think he's any good at that. It's a "high school" crush in the most beautiful but cruel way. He'll get all excited whenever he hears Darcy will be with them, actually brush his hair, make himself look presentable try to be smooth. When he's with Darcy he's both euphoric and he feels like he's dying all over again and again. Because Darcy is unreachable but he'll cherish any moment they share.
Also on the back of his head Romeo knows they won't be together. Darcy is obeviously not interested but it's so awfully nice being in love. He gets to think about him more distracted then usually and go through those moments they had together.
He's the type of person who'll idolise the hell out of Darcy. In his eyes Darcy has no flaws he's an angel. Romeo could talk about him for hours (and he does!) he writes poetry about him, it's bad it's really bad but it comes from his heart. Oh and Romeo writes song about Darcy. No one hears them. Not even his friends but they still exist.
But Romeo will cry himself to sleep because Darcy will never love him back. And he knows how good they'd be together how good of a boyfriend he'll be and it's so w fully terrible being in love because why can't they be together?
But on the bright side Romeo knows he'll get over Darcy, it's just stupid young love after all. Short lived and passionate but it'll be gone before he knows it still he stupidly believes that it could've been so much more.
Just for the sake of ending this on a lighter note Romeo is the type of person who'll get super awkward so when Davey walks away he'll just groan and say "Ugh did I really say "Good luck with the paper" to him? And that's it?! That's it?!" Every damn time.
