i rewatched rebellion story recently and i was taken aback once more by how simply good and powerful the series was. how aesthetically interesting and how precious the characters were. maybe not quite so in rebellion, but in the story overall.
I know! I feel like I haven’t watched anime that hit me so hard emotionally, visually, and auditory since then.
tbh as a story rebellion didn’t quite match up to the series but I will say that it did a great job for Mami and Sayaka. In the original series their characters revolve around their tragedies but in the movie you get a chance to see them in a story arc that’s not setting them up for failure, so I’ll give it that. I also liked what it did with Homura but that is definitely a matter of contention lol.
