This issue has articles that well serve the dressmaker of any taste and any skill level. There is the red beaded dress on the back, a 1940s version of the 1920s, done on chiffon which Judith Neukam explains in her article. Angela Wolf helps those whose taste run more to denim to distress their jeans, while Daryl Lancaster explains the innards of a tailored jacket--I know it looks terribly complicated to the uninitiated, but I have to say making my own suits has been most satisfying. There is no other way to get the cut, color, details, and fit exactly the way you want them, unless you hire a tailor. Other articles explain seersucker for the beginner, then there is one on fitting sleeves with both basic and advanced info, and glamorous leather applique for the embellishment aficionados.
