A Long Awaited Richonne Rewatch
I feel inspired to fall in love with Richonne again. I'm going to take this moment to share why I love episode 6x10 so much.
What I love about this episode; it's so cute that it took Michonne a minute to catch up and see that Rick and Carl really love her and what she's done for them.
IMO- Rick knew for a while that he was in love with Michonne. Maybe between No Way Out and The New World, when things started to slow he realized, wait I actually love her, I want to love Michonne. I was born to love Michonne (maybe not that part, that's just the fanfic writer in me :)
Sure in 6x11 Rick said "it just happened" to Carl. I think what he means is the physical part of them just happened. Knowing that his feelings were mutual just happened. But Rick's feelings for Michonne were brewing for some time and I think Rick was quite clear he had feelings for Michonne. It just took her a minute to notice there was a thing between them.
Example 1: the handhold that Rick initiated. He's the one who moved the breath mints out the way.
Example 2: Michonne is the one who was looking down at what they were doing. Rick was the one who was staring at Michonne, waiting for her to just see it. We see her face is one of bewilderment then understanding, while Rick just has this knowing smile on his face. Like this was a moment he's wanted to act out, to show her and tell her what she means to him. MY HEART. And it's such a Rick Grimes way, isn't it? Rick, he's about action, he's about showing his woman that he's there. That he loves you. Michonne fully gets it, that's why I love that 6x10 the moment they made that move, it was without words and it was perfect and very them.
My heart. I will forever be in love with Richonne.
