Personally, I use Stylish to load themes and Xkit for the rest, because Stylish has the advantage of loading the theme instantly without any lagging on refresh. You can use Xkit, but I would recommend getting soft refresh as well (more below) to minimize the annoyance anytime you want to fetch new posts.
Step 2: If using New Xkit, get the Theme Editor and Soft Refresh extensions from the Xkit gallery.
The former lets you load themes, the latter ensures you don’t have to actually refresh page to get new posts (because there is lag before theme applies).
Step 3: Paste the theme code in.
If using Xkit Theme Editor, just copy and paste the code into the window that appears when you click on “Edit Theme” in sidebar. Yep, delete everything that was in there, paste the code in, click Save, enjoy.
If using Stylish, go to your tumblr dash, click on the Stylish icon in your browser’s navigation bar, click on the triple dot thing, pick “Create New Style”, paste the code into the window and save.
And you’re done! If you need any help, don’t hesitate to send an ask.
Slightly more advanced and complete version of pink tumblr dash. Colors can be fully customized, so can virtually every aspect of theme. You’ll need Xkit.
features:
unrounded edges
new post buttons on dash removed
sidebar invisible until hovered over
smooth global transitions
honestly. so smooth. like butter.
everything is grey
/w.e color you choose
white nav bar icons w hover effect
tutorial and code under cut.
step 1: get new xkit.
Get this extension from whatever link is appropriate to you: chrome, safari, or firefox. Refresh the tumblr page after installation. An xkit icon should appear in your navigation bar at the top.
step 2: get the “soft refresh” and “theme editor” extensions.
In the xkit extension gallery, get these 2:
The theme editor will let you actually load the theme, and the soft refresh (while not essential) will prevent you from having to wait for pink tumblr to load again every time you check for new posts.
step 3: load theme code.
Refresh your page, then look for the “edit theme” link that should appear in your sidebar. Click on it, a box will pop up. Erase everything in the box, and paste this code in. Click “save theme”.
And you’re done! Shoot an ask if you need help customizing/encounter any bugs. I’m more than willing to guide you through the process.
Note: to install this theme you must have XKIT, XKIT Theme developer extension, and the other XKIT theme extension. This code is still pretty sloppy so it might be a bit hard to customize til I clean it up.
This is a simple, clean, and stylish theme for your dash.
Note: to install this theme you must have XKIT, XKIT Theme developer extension, and the other XKIT theme extension. To make it look exactly how I have it, you'll also need to install the "Dashboard Tweaks" extension, and select the slim sidebar option!
Features:
Gradient background with semi transparent post backgrounds
Fixed sidebar on the left side of the screen
and other aesthetic fixes to your dash! Everything is customizable if you know CSS and I've left instructions in the code for those who are less confident in their CSS skills. If there's anything messed up feel free to send me an ask!~
