How long have you two been together? I think that might play a part of it, but I’m sure she’ll be happy with whatever you pick out for her, as long as you put some thought into it. I always like the idea of giving people experiences. Are there are concerts she’s been wanting to go to?

The way you talk about her is sweet. I have a feeling she’ll be happy with whatever you do. I don’t know if I’d get her any clothing or anything fashion-related unless you get it approved by her friends first. That kind of stuff can be tricky. Maybe a shopping day where you take her out and watch her try everything on? And then treat her to a romantic dinner. Stuff like breakfast in bed and flowers is always a nice touch too.

When was the last time you two took a trip together? Maybe you could surprise her with a few days out of town, somewhere she’s always wanted to go. I’ve found that it’s way too easy to get somebody a gift that they don’t like or want, especially when it comes to women’s clothes or jewelry. I don’t think you can go wrong with a romantic vacation.

What’s her favorite dish of yours? I don’t know if a home-cooked meal is special when you’re married to the best chef in Vermont, but if you can pair one of your favorite meals with some good wine, I don’t think she’d complain. Or get her out of Vermont and take her someplace warm.

Excellent, I could do with leaving the school grounds for a while. Please do arrange for a car, I would offer to drive us, but doing so under the influence isn’t a good idea. I will arrange a babysitter for my boy.

Which type of setting do you prefer? I typically spend my weekend evenings in various hotel lounges. It is quiet and if you are compelled to strike up a conversation it is typically with people that are passing through.
