Can I just say: brava. Might I suggest using this response as the foreword to your memoir that I hope you plan on writing after you’ve lived out a doubtlessly illustrious career? It’s positively riveting.
As for being Asian - you’ll be happy to know that it’s almost become taboo at this point for directors to factor one’s race into the equation when deciding whether to cast them or not. More and more, productions are being cast through the lens of colorblindness unless the context of the production is specifically racial. So, whomever told you that you wouldn’t make it on the basis of your race was extremely short-sighted and will absolutely be eating their words in no time.
That final note about making it if it kills you, despite your mark (which, I’m assuming is the submissive one, considering your tone) - resonated with me, especially. I’m in the same boat, and will happily join you in burning the concrete jungle down if I’m not given the theatrical recognition I deserve.
Again, brava.
I don’t know who you are but thanks? I mean it’s not often I get applause from strangers when I haven’t even sang yet. Bur like thanks for all that. I don’t often talk about all of this cause like I’m probs never going to be claimed which means... well you know what it means, but yeah.
You’re in Glee too, right? You’re new? Causing a bunch of noise like I did when I first came here? Honestly, same. Fuck these guys.
