For those of you who are equally aggravated by Tumblr Live, there's a way to snooze it under Dashboard Preferences. It only snoozes for 7 days and I can't find any way to turn it off completely. Hopefully @staff gets rid of it altogether. I thought it was a joke at first.
Tumblr's "Following" tab algorithm is utter rubbish! But recently I made some changes to my dashboard settings and it made the world of difference! So I thought I'd share this in case it works for you too.
I just found out that you can actually adjust your dashboard preferences to see everything in chronological order (duh!). The 'best first' algorithmic setting was getting on my nerve. Why would anyone want that? I was rarely checking my Dashboard for that reason. So I'm letting you guys know, just in case any of you isn't aware of it.
Go to settings. Go to Dashboard Preferences. Hit this button.

Hey @staff idk if it’s just my bug or what, but I have ‘shorten long posts’ turned off of my dashboard preferences, but I’m still getting the cutoffs and buttons. Could you look into that?

Attention if you use an IPhone to browse Tumblr! The newest update implements the dreaded “Best stuff first” dashboard default.
To deactivate this, go to that gear for your settings, then Global Settings, then Dashboard Preferences, then turn that switch off!

Stuff in your orbit: Tumblr added a setting that shows liked posts from “your favorite people” in the mobile app. If you want to turn it off, tap the human icon on the bottom right of your dashboard. Your blog shows. Tap the gear icon. For iOS, tap “Global Settings.” For Android, tap “General Settings.” Tap “Dashboard Preferences.” Turn off “Stuff in your orbit.”
So we didn't like "Best Stuff First", now we get "In Your Orbit, stuff your favorite people liked"
I'm sure you mean well but just leave my dash alone. So far today i have seen two, fucking TWO re///ylo posts. I don't want that. I don't follow re///ylos So how are "my favorite people" liking that??
