The internet archive is so important it’s sooo important to archive digital data to preserve it if you can throw a couple of dollars their way to support them then please do so. Don’t let greedy people and individuals take away the internet archive!
PluralBridge: Simply Plural data preservation and export
PluralBridge is an independent open-source preservation/export project for Simply Plural users.
The immediate goal is practical: help users keep a local, private copy of their Simply Plural data while the public API and service are still available.
PluralBridge currently focuses on:
exporting Simply Plural data locally as JSON
preserving member avatar images where available
documenting token safety and privacy boundaries
providing SQL Server import scripts for reporting and future conversion work
giving users durable data they can later use with viewers, converters, import tools, or migration helpers
PluralBridge is not affiliated with Simply Plural, Apparyllis, Octocon, or PluralKit.
The website does not ask users to send their Simply Plural token or exported data anywhere. Exports are intended to run locally on the user’s own machine.

I'm collecting Homestuck's official, unreleased, and fan-made music !!! Currently there's around 10,500 files total, not fully organized yet (with metadata and album covers, and other such fun info), but I'm working on it ever so slowly.
If you have any fan-made music you'd want to share with me to collect and hopefully preserve, shoot them my way please :) a link or even just a name + artist would do, too !!!
Thank you in advance !!!
So tumblr's nuking trans women again. Export your blog!
Go to this link, with your url attatched to the end: https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/ and look for the "Export [your blog]" button near the bottom. It'll take a while so do it now, and just, poke it now and then? It could take literal days. Even if the data is some kind of impenetrable mess, it's better to Have It and hope there is (or will be) some kind of tool out there to parse it with than to not have it. I know a lot of you, myself included, have been here for nigh on or even over a decade.
More than 2,000 datasets have disappeared from data.gov since Trump was inaugurated. But analyzing exactly what happened and where it went i

Bulk downloading tools for images
I've been obsessively bulk downloading Twitter artists because of how uncertain the future of the platform is. I've also gotten into bulk downloading images as a faster alternative to my usual saving methods. I figured I might as well share the tools I use! I'm a Mac user, so all of these tools are both Mac and Windows accessible.
WFDownloader
An absolutely excellent bulk downloading tool. This app handles many more websites than gallery-dl, and it's particularly good for downloading entire Twitter pages. What's more, you can still download images from sites that aren't technically supported via the crawler feature. WFDownloader also gets major points for having highly detailed tutorials and a very responsive, helpful dev you can email for assistance.
Gallery-dl
This is a command line program, so it requires a bit of tech savvy. Most of the steps are outlined on the Github page. This program allows you to bulk download things like Pixiv pages, Tumblr blogs, Deviantart galleries, Instagram pages, etc. Some websites (like Pixiv) may require user authentication; the GitHub page outlines the steps each authentication process requires.
ESUIT
A Chrome extension that lets you bulk download Facebook galleries (something the two aforementioned tools don't do). The only drawback is that the free, basic version only lets you download the first 300 pictures in an album; you'll have to upgrade to a paid membership if you want to bulk download more than 300 photos. However, it's still a very helpful tool, especially if you're only planning on downloading smaller albums.
These are the 3 bulk downloaders I can personally vouch for, although many more exist. Feel free to recommend your own.
