I love going through all the old electronics I have, just found a imation 4mm DDS-90 data tape again, this little thing can store a whopping 2GB uncompressed data! (may not sound like much today, but keep in mind this was effectively a full disk backup for a server. And it's smaller than a compact cassette)

Soooo... anyone have access to a computer system capable of reading/writing 10.5" open reel tapes? :D Now that I own one of those tapes, I figure it would be cool to actually write some data to it. Maybe even a simple "hello world" program in whatever language is available.

( I doubt any of those systems are still set up/functional anywhere, though, and I guess if they are, I'd probably not be allowed near it :\ )

(btw, any info on the tape reel itself? You mentioned that you had some from the 60s and 70s, was curious about the age of this one and possibly what kind of system it was used with.)
