Okay, so this is really scary. At least for all the people who understand. And I think it is very important that you understand!
I just came across an old mailadress I once had at gmail, I created and abandoned it back in 2013 (almost ten years ago!), and had them "delete" it less than a year after that.
Now, because I'm a forgetful b*tch, I stumbled across an email containing that mailadress and was like "huh?"
And immediately I got an email from Google, telling me my account has been reactivated.
Google keeps your sh*t. All of it. All of your data, all of your history, ALL OF IT. And they keep it FOREVER, apparently.
We're talking a ten years absence and them being able to just reactivate.
Please, think about what this means!
Think about all the stuff Google as a profit-orientated company knows about you!
Your passwords? Google reads them while you type! Your search history? They KNOW. Your downloads - they keep a record of those. Your mails: all of them. Still there.
You think Google is amazing for knowing so much about you?
