Hey, I'm sorta dating this guy who I'm not really that into rn but he seems rly into me. He's rly nice as a friend but idk if I'll ever like him romantically, however I'm willing to give it a try. Thing is he wants to go date and maybe go further and I'm not sure if that's a good idea if I don't feel that way about him. Is this normal in dating? What should I do? While it’s understandable that you’d want to give it a shot, I think you should either make a decision to be fully committed to trying or not at all. I don’t think it’s fair to him when you said you’d like to try dating him but not willing to try anything else. I’m not saying you should rush into sex or anything but be open about things. Be open about going on dates. Be open about talking to each other. If you feel comfortable, kiss. If you find yourself falling for him, then you fall for him.

If you think that you just can’t develop romantic feelings for him or if you’re no longer interested in dating him, tell him. Don’t lead him on. Let him know that you just don’t feel a romantic attraction towards him. He’ll be heartbroken. He’ll be sad but he’ll move on. Lying to him and leading him on will only bring more hurt in the end.
