Mid Year Book Tag
Thanks to the lovely @dauen for tagging me in this! :)
Amount of books you've read so far: 15 (plus currently reading 2)
Best book you’ve read so far in 2022: In terms of new to me books, it would probably have to be Book Lovers by Emily Henry. But I also must admit I haven’t had a huge amount of luck this year. Probably because most of the books I’ve read have been random ones from the library.
Best sequel you've read so far in 2022: I haven’t actually read any sequels yet.
New release you haven't read yet but want to: I really don’t keep track of new releases except in a very limited capacity.
Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: Kathy Reichs and Matthew Reilly are two of my autobuy authors and have new books coming out soon!
Biggest surprise favourite new author (debut or new to you):
Newest fictional crush: I don't have one
Book that made you cry: None, but there were some seriously sad moments in Don’t You Forget About Me by Mhairi McFarlane.
Book that made you happy: Book Lovers by Emily Henry. I just didn’t expect to love the vibe, the characters and the relationship as much as I did.
Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year (or received): Probably Iron Widow. I borrowed it from the library but loved it so much I bought it :)
What books do you need to read by the end of the year?:
I don’t ever feel like I need to read anything. But basically I do want to get around to reading some of the books I own that I’ve had for 5+ years haha
I took so long to do this, I swear everyone has done this by now, so tagging anyone who is interested!
Happy happy birthday to you!
thank u amy!!!! 💓💓💓💓
21 & 23?
21. what’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?
so i've moved house twice this year, a LOT has changed but this is the first time in my life i've put up any real wall decor. i'm talkin honest to god hammer and nails <333
23. if you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?
oh jeez. something corny about not taking your time with people for granted, and sending texts is better than nothing
end of year asks
36 & 47 for the book asks, please :)
36. Your absolute most favorite character(s) from any book you've ever read. Definitely Adolin and Kaladin from the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. I just love them so much. I also love Adam from The Raven Cycle!
47. What are the last three books you read?
Pi mal Daumen- Alina Bronsky. Was a rec on my libby app and it was really funny. It is about an autistic 16-year-old and a middle-aged woman who meet during their first math lecture. somehow they become friends and help each other.
Long Live Evil- Sarah Rees Brennan. One of my fave books (In other lands) was written by her, but I was very disappointed by this one :(
Strandmörder- Alida Leimbach. Borrowed this one from my father, just a nice crime novel set on the island of Borkum.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Sophie! I hope you have a wonderful day 🎂🥳
Thank you!!!
People I'd like to get to know better game
I was tagged by @dauen! Thank you! <3 I had this in my drafts and forgot to post it. It's a bit of a time capsule now, which is fun(ny), because I still haven't finished my fanfic -- apropos of the last point on this list -- but I'm very nearly done with editing!)
Last song: "As I Lay Me Down" by Sophie B. Hawkins
Favourite colour: depends on the context, but probably pink and blue
Last book: I'm in such a reading slump. I recently DNF'd a reread of Addie LaRue (V.E. Schwab) and then a reread of The Pull of the Stars (Emma Donoghue).
Last movie: The Marvels (My friend and I watched all - or almost all - of the Marvel movies in chronological order. We started last September and finished on Monday. We're not watching Deadpool and Wolverine, so The Marvels was our final one.)
Last TV show: Schitt's Creek (I've been rewatching)
Last thing I googled: the Rotten Tomatoes score for Top Gun: Maverick
Looking forward to: talking to my friend on the phone later this week
Current obsession: finishing my fanfic WIP (I originally wanted to finish it before the end of last year, which wasn't the most realistic plan. Now I really want to get it done before Femslash February is over. It's also set during the winter/just after Christmas, so I really want to publish it while it's still winter.)
Tagging: Anyone who hasn't done this one, yet!
15 & 17 for the ask game :)
15. Do you have any houseplants? Do any of them have names?
I do and no they don't have any names! at my parents' place I have my coffee plant (that is still alive after 3 years!), 4 succulents and 2 orchids and at my apartment in my job town I have 4 succulents and a daffodil plant that I got from a mother of a student!
17. What’s the last thing you ordered online? The other day I was on this website where you can buy and sell things and I "ordered" a book by Brandon Sanderson from this guy who accidentally bought it in French instead of German and he just gave it away for free. I only had to pay the shipping. Other than that I seldomly order things online.
