Gauchão 2001 - Juventude 1x0 Grêmio
Foto: Roni Rigon (Pioneiro)
Naramen Bestiary
[Classified - Class 4]
Schola Identicaida:
Eterna Unitae
Iskariin Identicaida:
Daunri
Pronunciation:
(Da-oon-ri)
Appearance:
Standing at a minimum height of forty feet at full size, these colossi are considered minor gods by many cultures due to their reality-warping nature.
Their "face" is a mass of feelers hiding the ocular lobes that line the face in three pairs. Once they have found a receptacle to hide in, their skull will start to deteriorate before, with a tremendous heave they will shatter their skulls filling the receptacle with their feelers, and pulling the organs of the skull into their new place, the feelers use their structure to provide a framework for the flesh to expand and hold.
Their ocula supranis are pitch black with their ocula centra coming in a variety of colors.
Their two arms end in three, wide claws that while sharp are meant for scything through the plant life, and scooping away the silt of marsh, and swamps.
Their bodies are hunched and their silhouette hidden by their massive coats of hair.
Their hair, though soft to the human eye is incredibly firm and ends in a sharp point. This is the most visual on its tail that collects in a wide fan of sharp bristles that can be flicked with enough force to fling these hairs at a threat.
Diet:
Their diet consists mostly of the plant matter, fish, and eels of their wetland environments.
Behavior:
Daunri are peaceful creatures to those who approach with respect.
Often dawning the face of dead creatures, there is even a report by Skilan scouts that claimed to have seen one wearing a rotted tree trunk to hide its face.
The oldest of the Daunri will often grow large trees upon their back, and through their "mask" to further protect their face.
Communication:
Daunri cannot vocalize the Iskariin language but are capable of communicating emotions and basic ideas through telepathic communication, though they are not capable of initiating this themselves.
Capable of Dormin vocalizations allows for the Dormin population within Ferend swamps to cohabitate
Reproduction:
Every Daunri is born capable of reproducing through a set of pods that sit upon their back, these pods in their dormant stage are on average four units in length and three-fourths of a unit-wide.
(According to the Ascended being known as "The Slothen King") - There are thirty-six Daunri at all times, when a Daunri dies it will immediately begin to grow in a pod upon another's back, the bearing Dauri will then plant the pod deep within appropriately mineralized soil and protect the pod until the new Dauri awakens. Once the pod grows to maximum capacity it will go into a form of petrification until the population of Dauri reaches twenty-nine where one shall awaken to keep the population at thirty. When asked why thirty is the limit if there are another six ready for a new life it simply smiled and replied. "It's not thirty that's important, it is twenty-seven. Thirty is just so there's no weakening during the intermittent months it takes for a Dauri to awaken.
Advantages:
Their thick coat is nearly impenetrable by any known material, though they are loose enough that a firm tug will cause them to be lost.
Daunri possess massive 'souls' that allow them to bare their will upon their environments most often slowing time to their perception. Though the Dauri of Larcken has been recorded as allowing prauna to be seen as waves of color through the air that produce sound.
Struggles:
Due to their small gait, they move slowly and are easy prey to pack predators. Though it is rare for a Dauri to travel when they so they will often seek a settlement for protection.
Masks are often fragile and a debilitating injury should it be broken. Due to this many Dauri (Those who reside away from a populace.) will not allow anyone to approach their head.
Additional:
It is an unsaid challenge to bring a Daunri a new mask that it will change out for. It is in stories of heroes and kings that bring a new mask to a Dauri in pursuit of their blessing.
[ headcanon that kakashi and dauri have the same mothers yet different fathers :) ]
[ yes i am aware that they have different races, no, i do not care ]
