In this clip from director David Bertram (celebrated French portrait photographer) we take a glimpse into the dark fantasies of a small town. Relying heavily on dream logic, this video is one that requires your attention, but it’s definitely rewarding to stick around until the end.

"Don't Sing" — DATA feat. Benny Sings (dir. David Bertram)
It's de rigueur to feature a heightened world of sex and violence in a music video for a modern dance track. For some, this is genre excellence: Avicii's brilliant lesbian Bonnie and Clyde "Addicted To You" and (SORRY FOR MENTIONING IT BUT IT REALLY IS PERFECT) DJ Snake & Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What" come to mind as examples. But it's hard to achieve this level of greatness. It's not enough to be stylish, and polished — it also needs to have something overlooked in music videos: fantastic acting. "Don't Sing," is surreal, dynamic, with a masterclass in editing. This thing has five points of view... FIVE POINTS OF VIEW. THAT'S LIKE A GAME OF THRONES BOOK. IN FOUR MINUTES. From set design to costuming and shot style, everything is seriously on point here, but what really shines is the performances of those 5 protagonists—played by French actors Sandra Dorset, Adèle Wismes, Francois Verger, Sébastien Faglain, and Frèdèrick d'Elia. The track provides a thrumming backbone, urging restraint: perfect for a play on daydreams. Don't sing about love, think about the rhythm, sing about war.
