Investment! This cost 2 pennies in old money, worth less than 1 penny in Sterling decimal coins. Yet, today ... well, let us say this, an uncut sheet of 1930s football cards like these, issued as 4 of a kind supplements, with the magazine they came with - Boys’ Magazine, this issue from 1931 - would fetch 10,000 times the initial expenditure! So much for banking your money. Buying footy cards at source and time of release has proved to be a better invesment than putting your pennies into shares, stocks , bonds et al
