These amazing pieces of art were created by David Moli, His work is so current, creative and expressive with several nods and homage to the past.
What I love the most about these is the strong links and clear influences of Banksy, Keith Harding who’s currently holding an exhibition at the Liverpool Tate which was amazing ever since I saw the social and political messages within his work I’ve been a huge fan of his. My personal favourite Jean-Michel Basquiat who I have been obsessed with since forever. But he has put such a modern twist on it and included iconography from the R&B world using faces of Tupac , RI-RI and even Biggie. I love my black history and seeing his work encased with the leaders of my freedom such as Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela why wouldn’t I like it? Its so clear and obvious as to why I would be completely and utterly obsessed with his work.
Its going to sound so childish but I genuinely love shapes, I cant get enough of them. Circles, triangles, squares, lines, zig zags literally anything. My favourite form of art is mixed media and collage this is all that and more. I could go on and on about the colours used, the speed of the strokes for the spray paint and the doodles but this post would turn into the longest essay.
What I love seeing is the people actually in his work. As this is what tells me about him as more than just an artist, but more as an individual. You can the people he looks up, who he is influenced by or even just the people who #feedshishead within the work he creates . You can clearly see the football influences but also the other icons in sport such as boxing featuring Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson
He has collaborated with The Couture Club by customising jackets and bags and he has even been creating work for Boohoo Man and theres so much more to come, I cant wait. David has exhibited his work a two times in Manchester already and I cant wait to catch the next show.
Boogie, Everything I want on a canvas and more. #5aweek #FeedYourHead What I love about #DavidMoli's work is the expression, colours and shapes. SUCH AN AESTHETIC.
