I don’t go to see plays often, but when I do, it’s a real treat, I’m also happy not being familiar with plays or playwrights because it makes each play an adventure to go see, and this was a great adventure, I love this play and I love the performance put on by the actors and crew at the @skokietheatre makes my college play report much easier when I enjoy the play lol #actorslife #davidauburn #college2018 https://www.instagram.com/p/BqWRLu6hJ9w642zQT3Uzt64ZopkH3BU660PmIE0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=19tplcswdsubp

I haven't had much time over the last days (and weeks) but I wanted to share at least one more picture for #DiverseBookMay. Today's theme is #BookWrapUp and I just wanted to share a few titles I read this month. •The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I loved this book. It is my favourite read of the year so far and probably will be for a while. It has great PoC/black representation and thematised the important topic of police brutality against PoC in the US. The link to my review is still in my bio. •Proof by David Auburn. It is a play I read for one of my University courses and addressed sexism and depression. The main character Catherine suffers from depression after her father had passed away and thus nobody believes her having solved a difficult, unsolvable math equation due to her being a woman and her mental illness. I enjoyed this read and would like to read more plays in the future. •Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I am not sure about this book. It was fluffy, fun and ironic. The two main characters are gay and bisexual. It is of course not the best book when it comes to representation, but still fun and entertaining. •Not if I see you first by Eric Lindberg. This is my current read and features Parker, a girl who became blind after an accident. I'm still in the first half of the book, but I really enjoy it so far and think the the author is doing a great job describing Parker's disability. Have you read any of these books? #bookstagram #books #reading #carryon #rainbowrowell #thehateugive #angiethomas #thug #proof #davidauburn #notifiseeyoufirst #ericlindberg #ya #diversity #representation #diversereads
