In this interview feature, I talked to David Barnes (The Voice UK) to get some insight into what he’s up to right now and what he’s got coming up next!

Do you write your own music and if so what is your sound and where do you get your inspiration from?

I do write my own music but I also am working with song writers too for that extra inspiration and ideas. In all honesty I like so many styles of music it's almost hard to put one style to my name... What I will say is that my voice has quite a 'rock' feel to it when I want it to

What has been the best experience so far in your music career?

Well that's a hard question... There's been so many! I think if I was to put it down to one experience then it would have to be singing the National Anthem at Twickenham Rugby Stadium in front of 82000 people... Such a good experience and great exposure! Then there's always 'The Voice UK' obviously lol

If you could bring back one of your music legends, who would it be and why?

I think it would have to be Micheal Jackson! He literally was an incredibly talented song writer..

What advice could you give to someone who are looking to kickstart their dream career as a solo artist?

Well like I say to everyone, Music is a gift that us musicians have and to be able to give this as a gift to others is simply irreplaceable. Keep going and never give up on your dreams, you just never know who will give you that one call.

What are you plans and goals for the future? Anything we can expect to see from you soon?

I cant say too much at the moment but lets just say I'm travelling to and from the studio A LOT!
