Tinglepost 401: The Physical Manifestation Of My Slowly Looming Dread That The Whole World Is Falling Apart Eats Ass

It's always a treat when the vibe of the horror Tingleverse really overtly comes out in a tingler. Much like one of Dr. Tingle's horror novels- albeit in a much smaller package- this story has layers to its conflict. The plot involves a cataclysmic event, the underlying issue of a stressed populace too beaten down by the state of the world to care about it, and the implied compounding small horrors that have lead so many people to such a profound point of burnout where something literally earth-shattering just doesn't seem like a big deal anymore.

This is categorized as a current events tingler, but no specific current event is mentioned. The event is more of a general mood among those who care about the state of the world. It doesn't need specifics. We all feel what it's talking about without them, even though every reader's specific fuel to the mood might be a little different. It's about a shared sense of dread that's been building for years and I don't think we're at anything like a culmination of it yet. Years in the future, if I were to go back and read this tingler, if I wasn't looking at the publication date I doubt that I would be able to pin it to June of 2026. (Perhaps, in addition to the sex, that's a part of the wish fulfillment fantasy of this tingler; a concrete physical sign that all of the bullshit has reached a high point.)

Unfortunately, I suspect that this tingler is going to remain Current for a lot longer than, for example, "Bisexually Pounded By The Mysterious New Jersey Drones". Fortunately, the hopeful resolution will remain equally relevant.
