This is the view from one of the peaks on the Santa Monica mountains. I always try to make it back here every time that I'm home.

I'm relatively new to Cambridge, and I haven't developed a strong affinity for too many places yet. However, this open lawn in front of the Cambridge Public Library is a really nice place to sit and read when the weather is nice. Open public spaces are really important for a city's livability, and this spot's popularity during the summer is a testament to that fact.

This is our local fire station. I've long admired firefighters for the often-dangerous work they carry out, along with the routine tasks like rescuing cats. Recently, firefighters came to our house in the middle of the night when our alarm system went off accidentally; they were kind and forgiving and professional.
