daycember 03; seals / shallows

related most closely to Pelagiarctos, the rock seals that fill up large portions of the black sand beaches are voracious predators and immensely protective of their pups. being one of the few fattier animals on the Island with slower land speed, they are a favorite prey of the day. albeit with very, very infrequent success.

(got distracted + life beating me up ++ going OVERBOARD but still slowly getting em done!)

daycember 02; tide pools

while the tide doesn't vary too much on the Island, when the weather clears, some of the more vibrant sea life becomes visible along the shoreline. sparse pools dot the numerous beaches, and while not a substantial source of food for the larger individuals, does provide a fun variation. though only the bravest of the day venture close enough to the ocean to sample.

daycember 01; eels / deep water

as the Island is of a slightly uncanny design, it seems to jut out of its location within the Atlantic ocean. along the deep trench encircling the land lives the one deep fear that settles in every inhabitants of the Island (whether there is awareness or not); trench eels. nobody really knows how big they get, however particularly massive ones have been known to breech the surface when something draws their attention.
