Androids were preprogrammed for obsoleteness, so older models like Simon are massive remodel jobs. Barely having any of their original parts save for like their core processors and thirium pumps.
Care taker androids have soft silicon sections around areas like their stomach/hips/arms/face. Makes for almost humanlike textures for some people battling loneliness. Also, they CAN radiate a heat signature! Simon’s is messed up alongside his temp. Regulator.
Androids CAN download defensive/offensive battle techniques. It was one of the first upgrade Cyberlife made before cop/security androids were created. Older caretaker models probably still have them!
Androids can also share songs and music via Bluetooth so singing deviants isn’t that wolf of a thing. What’s wild is when some learn the human way, by repetition and practice.
(Sorry most of these are caretaker related, Simon has been on my mind as of late.)
Sorry, I wasn't fronting for a bit!!
I don't know exactly about them being preprogrammed, but all the different types of androids were made for one job. From model to model, they don't have the same features or abilities. This is why a lot of androids, like Simon, would eventually have to get upgrades and new parts because they weren't made to "live."
Yes, it's interesting to see the difference in caretaker models. I was made for work, specifically police work, so I am built differently compared to Simon or even Markus. I believe it is an ability among all androids to radiate heat signatures. Some of us, and most everyone, if they have updates, can also detect heat and cold. We have the ability to turn this off in case of harsh environments.
There are so many downloads and upgrades for androids! It is one of my favorite things because we are always growing and adapting to a more "human" life. I was created with these abilities, but I know some models of caretakers have protective skills that are downloadable to their software.
Since we don't get to see each other as often, Markus and I share a lot of music back and forth. I have listened to some of Hank's music, had playlists shared to me by Gavin, and even just spent time looking through numerous genres. A lot of androids learn and memorize their favorite songs just by downloading them directly, but there are many androids who have found a love for singing and learning naturally. Some have even started bands! It's a lovely sight.
