It’s not supposed to be like this. Jimmy knew so much better than to pout in the corner backstage, especially when you’re working. He’d rather smile and encourage the night, hoping that everyone else would feel good while handling various shows.
And yet, he frowned, crossing both arms as smile toward different people and catch up in the hallway, looking so pretty anyway. He can’t even remember the last true date, or the last time you glanced toward him without turning somewhere else.
Fed up with his own attitude, he finds you again, gently whispering to avoid bothering the production staff.
“What’s wrong?” You ask, squinted those eyes without hesitation.
“I miss you.” He does. Badly. It’s embarrassing how Jim could melt in your despite the height difference.
“I miss you, too.” You’ve answered, almost bashful when he almost kisses your neck in public, burying gentle lips by the crook.
“You’re mine, hmm?” His cologne teases your senses, but there’s a time and place for everything.”
“Stop it.” Somehow, you’ve gently trailed him off, pulling yourself together by an absolute miracle.
Walking away, you know.
No one else is your best friend.
