i just got so pissed internally because i thought about bruce and alfred's relationship and how alfred is gone now, which sucks exponentially. but overall upset about how this recent arc, and past arcs are pushing away everything that makes batman, batman. alfred is gone. he pushes away his kids and subjects them to even more traumatizing events. the manor is fucking sold which feels like to me, the last thing tying bruce to his parents. in addition to that how do you take away one of the most important reasons of why bruce became batman in the first place.

i know characters change as they grow, and batman and the idea of batman has been around for so long. and he's grown in many different aspects! but they're just taking away so many of the things that are staples in bruce's story and i'm not particularly a fan of it at all. these writers think that a "darker, grittier" style of batman works better but it only works better in their favor and in their bias.
